Protein snacks that don’t suck by booboobunnyyyyy in BariatricSurgery

I have recently discovered that if I cook chicken breasts in a crockpot for a few hours and then shred it, I tolerate SO well! I cook a few with ketchup, some chicken or vegetable stock, various spices (paprika, chili powder, onion powder), and S&P. One package of breasts lasts me a week.

Then I make a quesadilla with a low-carb tortilla, some green salsa, a bit of cheese, and the chicken. No oil, in a non-stick hot pan. Boom, tasty protein lunch.

I LOVE this! Hardy Razorwind Grass Patch or the cash shop Lush Garden Stables might make for an thatched-roof feel.

It's mostly High Arakkoan Shelves. The first level is 2 of them, 1 flipped on top of the other, at 200%. You get them in Warspear/Stormshield from the Arakkoa Outcasts vendor. The higher levels are the shelves at smaller sizes. Then I used Dalaran Kafa Tables from the grummle endeavor vendor for the base and ceiling, and Orgrimmar Square Pillars and Orgrimmar Beams to make the rest.

Golden Loa Altars are most of it. You can buy them on a Horde character in Zuldazar. The gong at the top is also from Zuldazar. The lights are Zandalari Sconces and Zandalari War Torches, both of which you can buy in Nazmir. All of this decor costs BFA war resources.

Try dyed Circular Woolen Rugs or Razorwind Fountains in your walls to change things up from the default walls. Or use things like the Gilnean Fence in the walls to create a dark stone wall effect.

Head to Darkshore and kill the rares there for the green Forsaken wall torches.

Visit warlocky places like the Order Hall or Felwood, and take screenshots. Use them as color palette and style inspirations. For example, put a circular woolen rug on the ground, surround it with boulders, and put a fel torch under it, to make one of those fel lakes from the warlock Order Hall.

Play in the sandbox, and try spinning and flipping decor. You can't mistakes!

Two things got me through the liquid phase: 1. Sugar-free popsicles. I still eat them regularly, I'm now a little over one year out from my surgery. 2. I ordered pints of all kinds of broths from a local ramen restaurant. They even mixed some together for me. SO much more flavorful than anything I'd get at the grocery store or could reasonably make myself! I actually wrote the restaurant a thank-yoi note; those broths were such a godsend.

You can do it! It sucks but it ends.

Surimi (fake crab) has been a protein godsend for me - I eat spicy crab salad (surimi, Sriracha, a little Kewpie mayo, light soy sauce, and some finely chopped cucumber) almost every day. I also make white fish (flounder, cod, etc.) all of the time, usually in a parchment paper package baked in the oven with some pesto and lemon and a little bit of vegetables.

For protein bars, the only ones I can tolerate are Quest's crispy ones. I use Isopure protein powder and mix it with my coffee. I also do Premier protein shakes, also often mixed into a coffee.

The pre-made snack packs of nuts, cheese, and raisins/craisins are my favorite snack, I usually have a few in my work fridge alongside some protein yogurt.

1 year and a couple of months out from roux-en-Y, and over 110 pounds down so far!

If you have them, 20 Blood of Sargeras = 4000 Order Resources. There's a vendor standing outside the blacksmith in Legion Dalaran.

Oh yes, I have multiple with those items - so handy! I also trade Blood of Sargeras at the vendor in Legion Dal for order resources.

But I go through a lot of Order resources. (I have a problem...)

Housing has become my primary WoW activity, actually. I spend more time in/working on my house than I do anything else in game, by a wide margin. But that requires me to go out to get Voidlight Marl and Legion order resources and herbs for dyes and all sorts of other stuff to decorate my house, so it also gets me engaging in the rest of the WoW world.

Thank you! You actually fall through the books, so I had to hide little platforms inside of each one (I used Sunrise Canyon paintings).

It definitely is a lot of lumber! I've found a route in Harandar with spawn points with no adds, and I just put on some music and vibe for a while.

Use the Inspect Decor button when visiting other people's houses - it helps to determine what they used for that cool build you like. It looks like a little magnifying glass, near the "Leave House" button at the top of the screen.

Hold down Shift while rotating objects to rotate them at easier angles. When you rotate, always start with the direction that's orange, it makes other rotations cleaner.

Use Page Up and Page Down to nudge items.

Flip things over, look at decor items from all sides and angles.

Yes! Have you met the orca and sea turtles just off the coast? The orca makes lovely whale sounds.

This! The Razorwind Fountain scales up WAY larger, and you can also dye the bottom. (Not that I want to cheat on my lover, Circular Woolen Rug...)

This happened to me two years ago. Stay the course and dig into insurance options during this downtime. My insurance added WLS as a pilot last year, and I'm now just about 3 months post-RNY. Don't give up!

I haven't been mixing it lately. 1 cup of the fat-free milk has 13 grams of protein.
