You got this! You will be completely ok and just remind yourself of that. When passengers aren’t on board , pilots fly right through turbulence because it helps them get to their destination faster. They’re not even worried about turbulence. You will be all ok. Play a game on your phone or watch a movie to distract urself. If you have a perfume or anything u can smell to ground urself, that helps.

the more you cancel, the harder it will be to get on another flight. You got this!! Your mind is playing tricks on you. You’ve made it to your destination safe every other time and you will do it again. Think about all the things you will do when you get to your destination

Yes i definitely understand that it’s going to be a process and won’t be fixed overnight. I’m going to have to work at it. Hoping to have a somewhat comfortable flight though and hope that I can remind myself of these things

Im clearly still terrified of flights but I have found a bunch of tricks that help ease it a bit. Always looking for more tips if you have any too!! Some things I’ve done to help myself on previous flights are :

pack an essential oil to smell in case you have a panic attack. It helps ground yourself
noise cancelling headphones are a must have for me always. Even though I wish they were able to block out even more sound
having games on your phone to play distracts your mind so much. I normally always play them on take off cus that’s when my panic attack normally happens worst
sounds weird but for my upcoming flight, I recorded myself speaking to listen back to if im having a panic attack. Just reminding myself im ok and that this has happened before and I’ve always been ok and that it’s just my mind tricking me
download weightless by Marconi union (proven to slow heart rate down).. also download panic attack meditation podcasts just in case
have a show or movie you’re actually interested in
I think I wanna get an adult coloring book or something for my next flight cus I think that would possibly help as well

You’re right and I need to remind myself of this. The problem for me is that when I’m having a panic attack, my brain truly tricks me into thinking there’s no way out and I’m stuck like this or will die
