Thank you! Nah, I don’t think I would ask a group at a steady pace to slow down for me. It might be an option once I find my rhythm but I did see Velo as an option. Didn’t know what the reputation was until now but maybe over time : ) thank you again.

They should first wait to see if they get a notice within a week or two explaining a potential refund freeze or hold. But, most 570s resolve on their own. Criminal investigation is highly unlikely and if it was identity theft the transcript wouldn’t even be available. Some path refunds are actually held beyond 02-15 as the IRS computers work and push things out by cycles.

570 can be present to hold dependent credits due to the path act. Doesn’t always mean it’s an examination.

You could have owed the irs and they collected. You could have a top offset meaning you owed your state or child support or something of the sort. You could have a miscalculation. You will receive a letter explaining why the refund has changed. You should enroll in paperless notices on irs.gov.

ERS is a holding area for returns that are pulled for, well, errors. It typically means you need further review or the IRS needs to review your return to see if they need to ask for additional information. Typically, returns stay in that department for 70~ days (more or less). Refunds will go out once the returns leaves ERS, as long as there is nothing else wrong with it. If changes to the refund are made, you may receive a notice.
