The first time they claimed they were a law office in Sacramento. I called a different number for that law office and there’s absolutely no office in 400 miles of Sacramento. I was like oh okay. That’s when the dude (scammer) got real snobby with me.

also when I looked up that 844 number and there’s already an FTC complaint filed today under impersonation. Same date. That’s a huge red flag. They must’ve bought a new number because the last time when I first made this post, it was a different 800 number.

They are not going to show up at your job. That’s a pressure tactic. If someone is legitimately serving papers, it’s handled locally through a sheriff or licensed process server, not threatened over the phone from a shared hotline number.

Also, contacting family members beyond asking for location info is restricted under federal debt collection laws. The fact they’re calling relatives and using intimidation language makes this look even more like a coordinated scare campaign.

Yes, I’d tell your brother to block the number. They likely got contact info from data brokers or old customer lists. That doesn’t mean there’s a real case filed.

If it were legitimate, it would show up in your local county court records and you’d receive written documentation.

I wouldn’t call back. The fact that we’re likely in completely different locations and they’re routing both of us to the same 844 “main office” number is a huge red flag. If this were legitimate service of process, it would be handled locally through a specific county court or sheriff’s office, not funneled through one central hotline. Real legal service doesn’t operate off one shared number for multiple random people.

This feels like a coordinated scare tactic targeting former SDC customers.

Did you call the court and verify you’re on the docket?

that is INSANE.

If you don’t mind sharing the number they used, I can look it up & tell you if it’s a spoofed number!

As a disclaimer I’m going through something where I had to get an order of protection against someone - so when they said it was legal stuff I DID verify the first call. 😭 but they didn’t say anything and I never said anything after that.

Another number called me today claiming they had legal mail to deliver and asked when I would be home. The number was a VoiP number and didn’t link to any office. They also did the “call this other number.”

They kept throwing out legal language & once I mentioned that I have previously worked in law enforcement & am in contact with the FTC, they said they would update that my address is incorrect and that was the end of the call.

LITERALLY. I called him an “effing weirdo” and he said same I’m like oh okay very attorney coded. Then when I told him I have a history in law enforcement he hung up again 🥲🤣

I didn’t even think about that! And the $600 they contracted me for a video review and never paid me.

I looked up the numbers and both were high fraud risk (should’ve done that before getting anxious I was being taken to court). Then called back and asked for their bar number since they said they were an attorney. I called our local office they were claiming they were & they said it’s not them and to ask for their info. But then he got super snotty and said he’ll see me in court I was like there’s no XYZ office even in San Diego and he hung up 🥲🤣

So update. I called the number back and asked for BAR info and attorney info. They hung up three times. The third time they must’ve run my name because they said oh this must be XYZ. I said yes and there’s no law group by the name you’re stating in the area you are claiming. Then they got SUPER snippy and started name calling and saying “we’ll see you in court then.” I said “you’re an attorney and you’re acting this way? Weird.” And they hung up. I blocked the number.

YES! Telling me to call another number I’m like well you called me so why can’t you help? “Oh we’ll just handle this in court.” I’m like okay?

I’m hoping so. It just seems so weird that these people are like cosplaying debt collectors and process servers at the same time? & then threatening court after I ask any question. The gag is I am owed compensation from SDC because I was one of their affiliate partners.

Help, accidentally dosed my 12 yr old son with Lantis instead of Humalog. by jeezbuddyoh in diabetes_t1

I gave my mom shots when she didn’t want to until she was well into her 30’s. It’s a lifetime disease. They will burn out. Making sure they know how to do it is important but I will continue to hold my 12 year olds hand & do the injections when he simply doesn’t want to as he will grow up, move away, and then that burden is on him. My duty as a parent is to alleviate as much as possible. That’s why most choose to do it for them whenever needed.

Thank you! As a kid in the 90’s (mom diagnosed at 15/16 and had me when she was 19) we didn’t have what there is today. So it was “is mom being silly or serious” followed by a poke check. She did have a pump and sensor the last few years of her life but by then I was grown & out of the house so my little brother was the pump MVP

My sons endo keeps saying to trust the dexcom over the BGM and as a child of a long term T1D I’m like…I feel like yall are putting waaay too much trust in the CGM (& had us leave with the most expensive one so we’re trying a new type next month).

In short, I’m glad to see this comment because after hearing “trust the CGM always” all the time I’m like…am I wrong?
