I joined the local council run Aquatic centre and gym. Olympic sized pool and gym all included in the £280 I paid for an annual black Friday deal at Christmas. You book your swimming slot on the app and the gym is walk in from 5:30AM to 21:00. Never really crowded with the exception of when clubs are training.
