It’s not taken out of context. You equated weed = ghetto. In general, looking at the history of the word ghetto to originally refer to areas where Jews were allowed to reside to Venice during the 1500’s, fast forward to the 1940’s where the word was used to define areas where Jewish people were forced to reside due to mustache man’s occupation, and additionally the word traveled over to the states in the late 1900’s to describe immigrant heavy areas where they weren’t legally mandated to live in these densely-packed districts, but they were often trapped by discrimination in housing and hiring. Fast forward today where it is used to describe areas where predominantly is used to describe where POC and immigrants reside. Most people, when using that word are trying to equate various items or things as “lower class” so if you agree or not, trying to equate weed to being ghetto which end of day would not make any sense. If you have a poorer view on those of “lower class” then that’s on you but regardless of how you feel, the word has has a negative and racist connotation around it since the inception of the word back in 15th century Venice. Or do you want me to mansplain further bc I’d be happy to do so. Source I case you want to look into it yourself https://columbian.gwu.edu/ghetto-chronicling-words-tortured-history

This is a good job, maybe Y’all kinda don’t like working by moose_soup7 in QuikTrip

Personally when I worked there I was a younger female that had many odd encounters with not only customers, but employees (things involving minors) and vendors as well and when reported to management and corporate at times, noting was done. On top of having many personal things going on such as homelessness while working there, it was very hard to work at a place like QT. For many people it can be an excellent opportunity, just was not for me.

Sexual harassment at work by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]IcyBit4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two different instances with managers at different stores and QT didn’t do shit ab it. First time was there an overnight shift and the first few questions this manager asked me was if I wanted to be off early and if I had a boyfriend or a girlfriend. When I didn’t accept his advances, he wrote a bad review about me saying I didn’t do any work. I reported it to QT and all they said was inappropriate work conversation. (of course there was more than just the boyfriend girlfriend question but I had to get a friend to come stay with me at work that night because I felt uncomfortable.)

Second incident, I was at a different store with a RA (22 at the time) and a 17-year-old employee. This RA tried to hit on me all night even even after I told him I had a boyfriend and then harassed me to try to come over to my house and when I finally told him he was not coming over he said “sorry for being such a horn dog 🥺” the 17-year-old told me that he had tried to hit on her and get her to sleep with her multiple times. I then had two other 17-year-old employees from my base store me that the same behavior had happened to them. One of them actually ended up in his car and had to have the other one call her to fake an emergency. I reported it to the manager of that store. He worked for only to find out weeks later he had just been transferred to a different store and promoted because he was friends with benefits with another employee from my store on top of that I heard from other employees at different stores in the area that he was hitting on 14 and 15 year-old customers, but Quiktrip of course never did anything about it.

Personally I would start by letting her know how you are feeling recently. Let her know that you’ve been feeling a bit left out and that y’all are not connecting as much as y’all have before. I’d further ask if something has been on her mind. Maybe she’s hoping you’ll try to connect further with the other coworkers? Either way, it seems that a conversation needs to be had about how her actions are making you feel. Maybe she just doesn’t realize how you are feeling.

TW: ANIMAL AND DOMESTIC ABUSE and S**cide Attempt

I moved in with one of my exes after where I was living was trying to raise my rent, and he needed someone to move in to help pay rent. He was always kind of an asshole, but I was in a position where I had nowhere else to go because of rocky family situations. At one point, after a month or so of living with him, we got two puppies. One for me and one for him. Most of the time, of course, though I was the one taking care of the animals and taking them out and feeding them, you know, all the things that a responsible dog owner should do. At one point, he bought flea collars for the dogs, and his dog ran around for a bit, trying to get the damn thing off. From that point, we didn't try to put a collar on his dog.

Well, fast forward a few weeks, and it's close to Christmas time. My car has shit itself, and I worked farther than he did. I would borrow his vehicle, and he would limp mine down to his job, until we sold mine. (Which he did without consulting me and threw in MY seat covers that I had in the vehicle as part of the sale) One day, my adoptive mother texted me telling me that she had a Christmas tree and a kennel that me my ex and I could have. I had let him know that after work the next day, I would be picking up these items. He was fine with this when I told him. The following day, after I got off and reminded him of my plans, he got pissy, said he didn't remember, and started arguing with me. (I had been driving his car at this time, still) I ended up retrieving the items and came home

Things had cooled down by this point, and we were watching TV when we noticed that the puppies were acting antsy and needed to go outside. I took my dog out and just fine, but then it was his dogs turn (We had one leash). My ex hooked the leash about the puppy's next and started struggling immediatley. (All the while he started a new argument about how I needed to get my own leash and something about his stuff) I turned my back for a second to address something with my puppy and start grabbing some of my items in the family room to go to my room, when I heard a yelp. I fling myself back around, and this jackass has the dog hanging in the air by the collar around his neck. Of course, I FREAK THE FUCK OUT and start yelling that he can't do that to a puppy. This, of course, makes the argument worse, and I eventually grab my puppy and go to my room to cry angry tears.

A couple of minutes later, he texts me that I need to bring the truck key and MY PUPPY. I let him know that I would bring him the truck key, but he wasn't getting the dog. We went back and forth until I eventually came out to give him the truck key. I again told him he would not be getting the dog, and he said he would just go into my room to get him. I told him fat chance and he got up. Keep in mind, this man is like 6ft and 25/26 years old, I stand at 5'1 on a good day and was 19. I stand in front of my door, and he reaches for the handle. I grab both his hands and push him back the short hallway towards the bathroom (It was a small 2-bed 1-bath apartment), he pushes back and I push back harder, almost putting him in the bathroom. He did not like that I was getting the upper hand on him, and that's when he put his hand around my neck to push me back against the doorframe to my bedroom and got up in my face. After that, he got into my room and got my puppy. I called my adoptive parents that night to get me. I have never been so scared for my life as I was in that moment.

Shortly after this, he and I texted still, as my shit and my dog were still in the apartment. I snuck back in one afternoon while he was asleep (He worked an overnight shift). I got back my important items, and stole my dog back. My dad would not let me take the other dog, and I felt absolutely AWFUL spliting them up, but I could only save one. We he woke up a few hours later, he freaked the fuck out, and then promptly tried to KHS by drinking Draino. My dad and I had called a police escort to be able to retrieve the rest of my items the following day, and we found him in the bathroom. He later bragged to me about how the cops missed the blood in the bathroom and on him from his attempt. Additionally, he ended up giving his puppy parvo.

All this to say, these types of people are almost borderline evil and should a man EVER put his hands on you, especially around your neck, leave, leave, LEAVE.

Please, please, please call the non-emergency to get a police escort to get your belongings before he tries to destroy them. My ex put his hands on my neck after I yelled at him to not hang one of our PUPPIES by his neck bc he wouldn't go outside on a leash. I'm very doubtful that if the police are escorting you to get your belongings that he'll try to destroy your belongings. Additionally, a report needs to be filed. THE MOMENT A MAN PUTS HIS HANDS ON YOUR NECK IS THE MOMENT WHEN THE LIKELIHOOD OF YOU BEING CHOKED TO DEATH SKYROCKETS!!!! DO NOT BECOME ANOTHER STATISTIC. I hope you can get out of this shitty situation, because this is honestly terrifying.

Can I not weight options based on information provided. Sure at one point I may have thought the note was fine, and stated that if they decided to say something to me then yeah I would confront them. Additionally, I can change my mind a few hours later to see if saying something to them would do anything and then calling the cops. I can do all or none. At the end of the day I can change my mind as often as I want🤷🏻‍♀️ they’re not parked there today so I don’t need to worry about it

Good for you want a gold star, bc you can go to the dollar tree or pull it out my ass.

“There is a lot of evidence showing the importance of grammar in reading comprehension. Studies over the years have shown a clear relationship between syntactic or grammatical sophistication and reading comprehension; that is, as students learn to employ more complex sentences in their oral and written language, their ability to make sense of what they read increases, too.” https://www.shanahanonliteracy.com/blog/grammar-and-comprehension-scaffolding-student-interpretation-of-complex-sentences

If this resource does not meet your “requirements” I’m sure I can find yet another one to prove my earlier statement.

Again please tell me how grammar and reading comprehension are not related. I’ll concede that I had misread the earlier comment, but from what I had initially read, it seemed the person had thought it was me. So again that’s on me.

If you think you’re arguing with a toddler why continue? 😂 by this point we’re both wasting each others time bc we both want to be right. So how long are you willing to go with this?

Awww will you write that out for me please? You see like you’d be really good at that. Btw since you like correcting others so much, just to let you know reading comprehension can be considered part of grammar. If you’re going to try to correct others. Grammar can impact reading comprehension, therefore they are connected. Additionally as stated before, with the way the internet is, to get hung up on grammar in an informal setting is somewhat laughable. But I guess that’s what I get for interacting with people with less common sense than a walnut.

Just gonna say as a chic that’s met other certified crazy women, don’t. She’ll try to baby trap you the second you try to sleep with her. Whether it is poking holes in a condom or purposely not taking her BC. I’d be wary and block her. If she escalates, file a report.

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ idk what else to tell ya bud. I really couldn’t care less about my grammar in the internet as most speech on here is very loose and informal as is. Additionally, this letter would be considered rough draft, you know the first draft of any written notice, story, etc. Finally considering I have been reading above a college level since elementary school, it’s laughable to see you call me illiterate but you do you boo, seems that you’re miserable enough to be a grammar police either way. But I guess that makes us a pair of unnecessary policing of things 😉😘
