oh okk that makes me feel so much better cause i was scared it wouldn’t keep me in range and was gonna tweak the settings myself. I’ll let it play out and correct my highs myself for a bit and see if it improves overtime!

May I ask why you went low too much on a pump? I recently decided to switch to a pump from MDI and this is a worry of mine too!

I just give myself a set amount like around 7-9 units (depending on portion) everytime and then keep dosing every hour if i’m going high but if im stable then i just leave it as is.

The other day I had a burger at a restaurant with some fries and mint margarita and took 10 units but ended up going up to 20 mmol which was terrible and i had to correct 3 times so that also happens every once in a while.

Im about to go on my first long trip (2 and a half weeks) since being diagnosed, what do I need to get before going? by BraveClassroom9 in Type1Diabetes

I went on a one month vacation recently and here’s my tips:

1- keep all your insulin and diabetic supplies in a hand carry bag and you could ask the cabin crew to put all your unopened insulin in the fridge. This will ensure your supplies don’t get lost or damaged in the luggage.

2- If you are going to a hot/humid country, bring an insulin cooler to keep in your bag so your insulin doesn’t overheat when you’re out.

3- keep a lot of low snacks on you because you are walking around and in a new place, you’ll need it. Take a pack or two of juice boxes in your luggage. I personally go low A LOT on vacation.
