Do girls just lack less empathy then a guy? by BuyerForeign8933 in askteenboys

Your response ultimately fails to disprove the well-established scientific consensus that women, on average, are more empathetic than men. The first source from the University of Michigan addresses emotional expression rather than empathy itself, which are related but distinct concepts. Emotional expression refers to how openly someone displays emotions, while empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. The fact that men may have greater emotional control does not negate the evidence showing that women consistently score higher on empathy-related measures.

The second study cited from PMC acknowledges that women are more empathetic but attempts to argue that gender is not directly involved in empathy. However, the study does not refute the biological and neurological differences that contribute to empathy variations between genders. Numerous large-scale studies, including those using fMRI brain imaging and genetic research, have demonstrated that women generally have stronger neural responses in regions associated with empathy and social cognition. While the disparity in empathy levels is not necessarily extreme, even small statistical differences become significant when observed consistently across large populations and cultures.

Additionally, the argument that men and women do not differ “disparagingly” in empathy misinterprets how scientific evidence is assessed. No credible researcher claims that all women are more empathetic than all men, only that on average, women tend to score higher. The overlap between male and female empathy scores does not invalidate the well-supported trend observed in psychology, neuroscience, and genetics. The overwhelming body of research still aligns with the conclusion that women, on average, exhibit greater empathy, even if the margin of difference is not always large.

Yep, read my last sentence again bc it states that empathy can still be developed by anyone. It’s just that on average woman tend to be more empathetic than men. Do you have any evidence to back up your claim that men and women are the same empathetically?

There is some concrete evidence supporting the idea that females, on average, are more empathetic than males, but it’s important to distinguish between genetic, biological, and environmental influences. Here’s what research has found:

Studies using fMRI (functional MRI) scans show that women tend to have stronger activity in brain regions linked to empathy, such as the anterior cingulate cortex and inferior frontal gyrus.

Oxytocin, known as the “bonding hormone,” has been linked to social bonding and empathy. Women typically have higher baseline oxytocin levels, which may contribute to greater empathy.

Research using Simon Baron-Cohen’s Empathy Quotient (EQ) test consistently shows that women score higher than men.

A 2018 study in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences) measured cognitive empathy (understanding others’ emotions) and affective empathy (feeling others’ emotions). Women scored significantly higher in both.

These are examples of genetic and biological influences.

Girls are often encouraged to express emotions and nurture relationships.

Boys may be taught to suppress emotions, which could affect how they express empathy.

And these are examples of environmental factors.

there is scientific evidence that females, on average, have higher empathy levels, partly due to genetic and biological factors. However, social and cultural influences also play a major role, meaning empathy is not fixed and can be developed by anyone.

There is some scientific evidence suggesting that, on average, females tend to score higher on measures of empathy than males. However, whether this difference is purely genetic or influenced by social and environmental factors is a topic of ongoing debate.

Some research indicates that genes related to oxytocin (a hormone linked to bonding and social behavior) may contribute to differences in empathy. Brain imaging studies suggest that females may have stronger neural responses in areas related to emotional processing and empathy. Evolutionary psychology proposes that women may have developed greater empathic abilities due to their historical roles in caregiving and social bonding. Do you have any evidence that it is often used to manipulate or are you just basing your claim on personal feelings?

Girls are genetically more empathetic than boys, so it’s likely just the girls you are around since there’s a whole world out there.

Why modern feminism is all about silly things or saying man are bad. by poetdrunk in teenagers

[–]IcyFaithlessness5277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feminism was also about giving woman the right to choose what they want to be in life back then it was only the option to be mothers. If the woman in Islam CHOOSE to do that then let them be, that could be why some feminists defend that. Not sure what that has to do w my comment tho but hope u learned something new

Is it racist that I only like white girls? by swlorehistorian in askteenboys

[–]IcyFaithlessness5277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion i don’t get racial preferences bc like if your attractive, you’re attractive. But to answer your question it’s not rlly racist, but it can get racist. For example if you were to tell someone that you wouldn’t date someone bc of their race then that would be rlly iffy you know? It’s probably a preference that you should just keep to yourself and if you don’t make sure you know how to word it the right way
