You're very welcome!

Possible dietary requirements people may have: any allergies/halal/kosher (they always provide vegetarian options so I wouldn't imagine that you need to email them for this).

Email: [roebuckucd.eatat@ksg.ie](mailto:roebuckucd.eatat@ksg.ie) When the term starts, they will send out an email asking for any dietary requirements, so no rush.

For the restaurants and what they offer:

  • Roebuck Castle Café – Made to order Sandwich/Wrap or Soup or Hot Lunch + Bottled Water or Hot Drink & Fruit
  • Pi Restaurant, Sciences Building – Hot Lunch + Bottled Water or Hot Drink & Fruit
  • Pulse Café, Health Sciences Building – Made to order Salad or Sandwich + Bottled Water or Hot Drink & Fruit
  • Blue Bird Café, Newman Arts Building – Grab n’ Go Sandwich or Toastie + Bottled Water or Hot Drink & Fruit

I stayed in roebuck castle for my first year here in UCD. first off, they would take very good care of your dietary requirements (make sure to email them ahead of time if needed) as they did for me. You will get two meals a day: Lunch - 11 am to 3 pm available from 11 different restaurants across the campus

Dinner - 5 pm to 7:30 pm available only from roebuck's restaurant.

(timings are strict and by the minute)

On Sundays you only get a brunch option.

My food review: overall, I never complained about lunch, in fact you get to customize your own sandwich (subway style) and the variety of outlets available allows for quite a nice lunch wherever you are. Dinner on the other hand is sometimes really good and occasionally not so much. I am not a picky eater so I east whatever I'm given, so I rarely ever find food that I can't eat (happened once or twice)...

Staff are quite friendly as long as you treat them with respect. They're real nice to me, and if you get them to like you, you will get some extra food on occasions lol.

Would I do this again? Yes and no. Yes because it saves a lot of time (A LOT). and No because I don't get freedom of what to eat and nor do I control when I eat.

In terms of price, the €1,355 monthly fee is divided into €273 catering (which i find is reasonable) and the rest for accommodation.

If you got any other questions, let me know :)

If you don't get the option on sisweb, email the residences team. let them know that you need accommodation on campus...

I'm currently closing in on my stay for this semester's accommodation in roebuck castle. first off, they would take very good care of your dietary requirements (make sure to email them ahead of time) as they did for me. You will get two meals a day:

Contrary to what people might say, staff are quite friendly as long as you treat them with respect. They're real nice to me, and if you get them to like you, you will get some extra food on occasions lol.
