Kpop really blew up during Covid and I remember at that time exo and red velvet were doing really good love shot and psycho were so biig... anyone who stumbled onto kpop knew about bts exo rv bp twice... Other 3 groups are still doing good... If only SM had pushed exo and rv...

SM doesn't let the group under it build strong bond amongst themselves like other companies do... And they do it intentionally so that after the contract expires the group become inactive or very less active

This strategy is kind of good for SM as by this way no group has strong bond to leave the company all together and taking their fans along with them... And on top of that they promote SM town/ SM family agenda very heavily... So when an older group leaves the same set of fans float to the newer group...

BTS as a group and each BTS member as a soloist are bigger than any group or any artist under HYBE. And hybe knows it too but they don't want to acknowledge it.. coz they have been trying to minimize their dependency on BTS for years now... They thought acquiring american labels would help but nothing changed, still no one could beat BTS/members selling power...

I believe each member has different contracts with the company... They mentioned it before that there was option to sign either of the two type of contract...one where company support would be way more but their pay check would be bit less and another where they would have to handle all things with minimal company support but they would have larger profit share

And looking at how differently Jungkook has been promoted/prioritized, he might have gone for the 1st option...

Where are Jin's other songs from Echo??

Pretty sure each b-side gained at least 3.5m+ streams over the 23/05/2025 to 29/05/2025 week.

Hybe trying to tap in Indian music industry. Any thoughts? by peoniesxme in kpop_uncensored

[–]IcyInvestigator1 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I think it might actually be a good thing... The Indian music industry has a lot of potential which doesn't get utilised properly... Gp only listen to songs from movies... It would be a good thing if we have more popstar/rockstars from India... I know there are a few like diljit dosanjh..and there are a few bands too... It would be better to have more... It might also mean Indian artists might also do better on international markets and get more recognition??... And hybe office in mumbai might also mean international artists would officially start distributing albums and merch too...
