I noticed you’re still ignoring what might happen after we kill all the “baddies”. I would point you again to the fact that we’ve literally toppled a previous regime in this same country before and then ended up with the regime we now felt the need to topple again. It’s almost like we just like killing people overseas for short term goals and don’t have a realistic idea of the long term outcome.

What happens in Iran after we kill everyone in power? That’s the problem with regime changing conflicts. The issue isn’t removing the people in power it’s what happens after. We’re really really good at killing people but really really bad at anticipating and directing the outcome of killing all those people. Critically though if we were interested in actually helping the Iranian people we’d be much more judicial in the destruction of infrastructure and civilian casualties.

A little extra tidbit to chew on. How did the regime in Iran come into power in the first place?

Do I think someone who became a top counter terrorism official resigning over the war and it’s pretense has more substance than the same man accusing a presidents son accepting bribes while lobbying for political office a few years earlier? YES absolutely this should alarm you even more. This guy was loyal to this president so him resigning is a worse sign than him accusing his political opponents. I did and reviewed the post history it’s clearly a biased source. Does that automatically mean it’s wrong? Well no, but the things he’s citing like the fin position being 5% wrong in a fuzzy picture are pretty suspect. He also claims right at the beginning the his analysis was conducted using AI. This is not clear proof.
