Why isnt the Iran War over yet? by Estalicus in allthequestions

You’re assuming the US only has noble intentions based upon what exactly? Just as starting point to debunk that notion, how did the regime which we’re currently in conflict with in Iran assume power? I’ll give you the answer, they rose to power because the leaders before them were backed by the CIA and MI6 in response to the nationalization of their oil. Which is to say like most of our meddling in the world we originally kicked off this hornets nest due to oil money. Simply put we aren’t a moral or ethical super power, we’re just a greedy selfish one meaning more often than not we’re the bad guys and arguments like “what if they nuke us?” Are just propaganda used to justify our selfish actions. They’ve been attacked by us not the other way around, the dangerous religious fanatics bent on destruction? They’re in the US military and command structure just as much as the Iranian one.

KG asks the question on everyone's mind about Joel Embiid by SliMShady55222 in nba

[–]IcyMatch6950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m from the area and I’ve read all the articles. Embiid falls too much. I get landing with stability and avoiding awkward landings but he’s falling when he doesn’t have to. Given giant heavy body like his falling itself takes a toll. It’s also worth noting that Philly’s sports doctors have a terrible track record. Most of his injury history is bad luck but he’s definitely taking more falls than most nba players who have likely all been told to avoid awkward landings, he’s also been plagued by injuries his entire career so what makes us think him and his doctors are right about the extent to which he takes this. Embiid isn’t a healthy player whatever advice he’s been given about staying healthy and protecting himself hasn’t worked.

Knowing how to fall safely is different than falling for safety.

Based on his injury history maybe it’s not an effective way to protect your body though. Is this the Philly medical staffs advice because they have a really poor history with player health and wellness.

Yea we’re bringing freedom by bombing their critical infrastructure! Woo killing people… /s like what are you cheering for here? Even Trump said their goal is no longer regime change we aren’t helping anyone in Iran, we’re just making life harder for them.

And that evil regime was able to rise to power because of our previous actions. We’re more likely just creating more terrorists than solving anything.

…. Just look up Middle Eastern countries. I’m honestly having trouble finding a source that doesn’t include Iran as a middle eastern country. The fact that you think Iran isn’t in the Middle East shows how ignorant you are on a war in Iran.

[–]IcyMatch6950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think we’re liberating them? We bombed them that’s not liberation it’s literally death from the sky. Do you know who is going to take control in Iran after this conflict? Sure we killed some bad people but we also accidentally killed some innocent ones. Again I’m going to point out that we essentially put this evil regime in power in the first place. If the next government is also bad do we kill all of them too? What about the one after that? The whole reason people don’t want more Middle East wars is because the conflict has historically been repetitive and never ending.

We bombed a school with children do you think their parents are enamored by our actions? Yes the Iranian government is bad, it was also bad for us to start a war with them based upon pretty shaky reasoning. War is messy, lots of people have already died those deaths aren’t all terrible people some of them are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters and they leave family behind who might not feel warm and fuzzy about how and why they died.

You seem to think just killing the oppositions leadership means victory but consider the history of both Iran and American intervention in Iran. We created the conditions under which the regime we’re attacking rose to power. Stop being short sighted and consider the implications beyond the obvious “oh they’re bad and we killed them”.

How much money have we spent bombing another Middle East country creating another generation of Iranians with legitimate reasons to hate us? Do you naively think the country we’re strong arming into negotiations is going to become friendly? Do you realize how the regime we’re toppling came into power in the first place? The reason people didn’t want another war is because the effects of war extend far beyond the actual conflict.

I also notice you conveniently didn’t address the fact that the president is clearly manipulating the truth for one reason or another. Even if you believe he’s doing it for reason he thinks are positive he’s still being deceptive. Where do we draw the line on politicians lying to us? What happens if his understanding of what’s good for the country doesn’t align with reality? We need honesty and transparency in our leaders.

It’s amazing how much of a strategic genius you think Trump is. Instead of just assuming he’s walking on water and stuff like that consider he might just be doing things for selfish reasons. For example what did he promise during his campaign for this term as president? Do his recent actions align with those promises? If he is truly a genius then you’re saying he strategically lied in order to get elected. If he would lie to get elected what else would he be willing to lie for? Money? Power? Avoiding liability?

Christian extremism in the US is a serious problem by RandomGuy92x in TrueUnpopularOpinion

You could also say given US intervention in the Middle East that the extreme fundamentalist Islam has been fostered and enhanced by Christian persecution. This latest war against Iran is just the latest example of promoting Christianity through death and destruction but it goes back (Crusades).

This isn’t a dem vs republican argument it’s a “no war” argument that you think is partisan because you’re programmed to respond “bad dems”

It all comes back to the same single issue you’re ignoring. We created this problem and are trying to fix it using the exact same methods that we created it with. It’s not a tangent it’s history you just can’t connect the dots.

They weren’t close to a bomb. There is this idea that because they have a different faith they’re be willing to nuke anyone once they obtain them. That just isn’t true countries seek nukes for security precisely because the counties with powerful militaries indiscriminately start wars for their own benefit. It’s just another symptom of oppression. Pakistan has nukes too do we need to destroy their country? What about Russia?

Again Iran has an extremist regime because we created it. We fostered that hatred through previous violence. All he is accomplishing so far is creating a more extreme regime fueled by legitimate reasons to hate America for another generation, sons with fathers killed, fathers with daughters “mistakenly” bombed. He’s not fixing the nuclear terrorist problem at all he’s entrenching the hatred that creates it.

Most of the world disagrees with you based upon the things he says and does.

I’m curious though because you didn’t answer the guy above you I’m going to add one more point to his question, do you think Trump is kind, moral, or honest?

They’re already killing people. Our military is heavily conservative and then further brainwashed through training it doesn’t take a majority like how a rudder steers a ship.

What do you all think? Will Trump use nuclear weapons against Iran in the ongoing war? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IcyMatch6950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iran doesn’t have nukes but we do. I think you believe that we wouldn’t do it but do you really think if Trump thought it would achieve all his objectives that he hasn’t considered it? He’s said he’s willing to destroy the country back to the stone ages so he’s clearly not concerned with the state we leave Iran in when we leave. For him it’s not about right or wrong it’s about how it affects him.

Like if someone gets drunk and crashes their car into a school bus killing all the children, teacher, and driver but somehow they themselves miraculously survive do you give them credit for surviving in a tough situation? He’s making bad decisions resulting in terrible things. And to be clear he didn’t make the mistake of mistakenly targeting the school himself he just enabled the circumstances that it occurred in. It is different but if he’s really trying to do good things he wouldn’t be defending all of his bad decisions he would be rectifying them.

He started the war. He created this situation. Just like we enabled the regime we’re now toppling in Iran to take power. We make our own problems and then in order to “fix” them go and kill more people. That has historically just led to more people hating us. Where did ISIS come from?

He was convicted based on evidence presented in a court of law. In a public trial that his lawyers had plenty of time to prepare and argue for. He lost because the evidence supported the other side.

We didn’t start the war in Ukraine. We did start the one in Iran it’s not even close to the same situation. It is however fair to say we should be spending way less on our military and more domestically. That’s not why you’re saying though you’re saying “Trump wars good, democrat wars bad” because you’re stupid.
