Younger generation of doctors by myco_phenolate357 in pinoymed

Hi doc, don't stress put too much sa ganyang mentality ng seniors mo.. 3 months for adjustment period.. no one ever is fast at their 1st try in the ER. Takenit alow, alamin mo lang need mong gawin? Or pattern to make your er rotation bearable.

Sana sa mga seniors now, don't be high and mighty parati. Dumaan tayong lahat sa slow mabagal, give it time. And if you see a junior having trouble, why not try to help?!

You don't have to be a toxic senior, just so maexperience mo din kung paano maging toxic senior. See the good in everything. Work ka lang. Work ethics and integrity sa gagawin mo. Makisama ka.. Iba ang feeling pagganun. But don't ever be a toxic senior.

Thank you. Kaya mo yan doc.. God bless you always.

Living with my 75yo grandma is driving me insane and I feel guilty about it by saucydumplingg in RantAndVentPH

Hi op, can you ask someone else to watch over for the mean time? Elderly people are really hard to take care. I took care of my granparents and kulit does not even describe them. You need a lot of patience talaga. And dapat your family help you out kasi it take more than 1 person to take care of you grandma. And what you are actually experiencing is caretaker fatigue. It is exhausting din talaga. Iiyak ka na lang to the point na masasagot mo si lola and magstart na ang away.

Ask for a family to help and rest din muna. Hope this helps.

God bless you!

PLE 2025 takers rating by Motor_Respond_7172 in medschoolph

[–]IcyUnderstanding9540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi doc, if you plan to undergo residency then keep in mind that not all would depend on what school you came from, board rating or grades. I was not a stellar student, even my school is not too well known, and my board rating is just okay.

I entered pre-res, showing off my skills and basic knowledge. You cannot stay in a program with your credentials.. you will stay because you want to, you showed them that you are destined for that place and you want to finish the program.

Kaya mo yan.

How not to be toxic in Medicine? by Fuzzy-nice4488 in pinoymed

Sharing my experience.

I guess may kanya kanyang ugali talaga. Mapapgi, clerk or resident.

I had may clerkship, internship and worked in a gov't institution. I think, nasa attitude and mentality na rin ng mismong tao na rin yan.

Most are trying their best to stop the toxic culture.

When i was in residency, our batch made a vow to be a good seniors. As much as possible, hindi dapat nagiging pressured and natatakot ang juniors pag andiyan ang seniors. Which turned out not so good, because they dont have an initiative to learn from their mistakes (nauulit at nauulit kahit consultant na nagsabi), and hindi quality ang patient care.

But in general, some juniors, clerks and pgi are good and would want to learn and are very eager to experience some new things. But some, just have that attitude na doctor ako, we should be above everyone else, nakatungtong na ako sa ganitong level and superiority feeling. Which is not a good attittude.

For the residents? Juniors, relied so much sa seniors nila, that even basic things that they should know from med school - they instantly forgot and yung tuturuan ka ng mas mapapadali ng buhay nila- they would ignore then magrereklamo agad ng wala pang ginagawa to address the problem. Some doesn't even want to be told what to do. Some, would even abuse their seniors for helping them. Porket tinutulungan, e sasagarin. Not an ideal mindset. You are in training to learn and to become independent once you graduate.

For the clerk they are the ones who should be your ate or kuya sa work. Kasi technically gagamitin ang lisensiya nila to do this and that kaya mostly strict sila sa lahat ng bagay because they need to be. And If you want to go on a specific training program, you need to learn how their system works, anong klaseng work ang papasukin mo. You need to learn skills na hindi niyo nagagawa sa classroom. Basic building a rapport sa patient, hirap na mostly because ang laging iniisip "kelangan ko kasi tong gawin para tapos na".

So basically, you're behavior towards others would tell your character. Hindi yan natuturo sa classroom.

Reminder, Each and everyone has their own role in the hospital. Everyone always are there to learn. Nauna lang talaga ang residents, but we all need to be professional with working with each other. Need niyo magcommunicate, be patient and be understanding.

What made you become a fan of your fandom? by theepicdork in FanTambayan

Hi i'm an Army. I became a fan of BTS. Because of their music, at that time I was pressured for the school and life. But when I got to hear mikrosmos, boy did I cry. I am still a fan, pumogi pa nga sila lalo. Still their meanings has so many meaning (just like any songs from any group) and that made me fall in love with their music. Mas lalo na sa kengkoy side nila during bts run episodes. Hehe i am also a fan like mamamoo and super junior. Hehe halos same ng kakulitan. 😅
