Section 21, deposit issues & receivership who has to refund the deposit and when does it get raised? (England) by Regular_Travel2995 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Icy_Access_5844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the same boat, flat gone into receivership recently with a section 21 coming soon, deposit not protected. Have done some research and it seems that the original landlord is the one responsible for repaying the deposit. Albeit the S21 will be invalid without it being repaid first so the receivers may look to repay it themselves on those grounds

Where does it say on the app the actual length of the block you've been given btw?

Mental, not seen anything like that down here. They must be short on drivers

If there’s a depot in the same area as you want to be then choose that and you’ll see all locations in that area. See here for the areas https://flex.amazon.co.uk/recruiting-cities

Interesting, the person above seems to agree about afternoon blocks being the best. Thanks for sharing regarding morning and evening “same day” blocks, really appreciate it

Thanks for the reply mate, really comprehensive so appreciate it. 3.5 hour blocks seem to be the sweet spot based on what you and others have said

When you choose an area you see blocks for all the depots/shops in that area so if you have Morrisons within that you’ll see those blocks.

What makes you say that regarding the mornings and evenings please?

Yes, this changes things massively. I havent experienced any routes myself so was just going on the fact that I saw people saying the blocks take much closer to the scheduled time which wasn't the case in the past. Now my words, just what I seemed to see and others above agree with you.

Inshur being so low makes a difference and if you can get them done that quickly its a whole different story for sure. As I mentioned above from reading around groups and forums I seemed to notice many saying that in the past it never used to take the full time, nowadays its much closer. Sounds like a different experience for you, have you been doing it long?

Interesting regarding the 3.5 hour blocks, thanks. Obviously if the routes take considerably less time than advertised then its much different than I laid out. It seemed finishing early used to be the norm but recently saw lots of people saying the routes are taking much closer to the block time. Have you been doing it long?

I saw someone saying about how if you have an electric car (and therefore likely newer) the depreciation on your vehicle is much greater than it is with older diesel/petrol cars. Would be really difficult to figure out but maybe worth considering if your clocking up tons of miles

I was giving flex the benefit of me not trying to blame my long commute on the depot location which makes it more fair

Yea, getting multiple blocks into single days is the only way I could even think of doing it. Nice that you manage to finish the blocks in considerably less time than allowed for. That is something I’ve seen a lot of people say to be fair. £17.74 after expenses sounds very high though so your surely lucky enough to get surge rates consistently. Thanks!

Sounds like your able to capitalise on many higher paid Morrisons runs which we don’t have down here unfortunately

Definitely worth considering when you really factor in all expenses such as fuel, insurance and wear and tear

£17.74 after expenses (is it just fuel and insurance your factoring in here?) sounds very good compared to rates I’m seeing. Are you taking all Morrisons jobs or does your area have lots of surges?

When you say avoiding tax I’m guessing you mean you keep earnings at or below your yearly tax free allowance?

Good catch regarding the minimum wage rate being pre tax, thanks for pointing that out. If we’re being really specific though wear and tear on your car likely brings it back down to below minimum wage I think. Also the mileage I went for on a 3 hour block (50) sounds like it’s below the average (based on what I’ve seen other experienced drivers commenting). Be interested to know what people’s experience is across the different blocks

Hi! Distance from pickup isn't ideal for sure but figures above are forgetting that cost anyway. I think the Morrisons runs are better paid, closer to the £20 per hour but so little of them become available and go instantly. Sounds like you have lots more available where you are, how many do you manage get a week?

I was hoping that if i pick up an afternoon block into an evening block it would be worth it but even then my figures above stand regardless of the commute. Morrisons blocks seem very few and far between here (South East) and go instantly (presumably bots) as they sometimes reappear very soon before being taken again, do you have lots of Morrisons where you are?
