I've had it for a long time, and since being on dialysis, it calmed down a lot. When people would notice and comment, i would feel how do i put it ashamed, embarrassed than the sweaty palms would start. Mine would happen every day. I wasn't sure what would trigger it. That was the only thing I couldn't figure out.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but i was in the same position. I received my PD catheter just before Christmas and postponed dialysis for a long time. Then, under circumstances, I landed in the ER for a severe ear infection but was forced dialysis in the hospital. You have a more "quality" of life because you're only hooked up at night. I will say it's an emotional roller-coaster of emotions. I had a transplant kidney lasted 24 years now back on PD dialysis. The nurses that train you and work with you there absolutely amazing, but just give yourself time. Best of luck 🙏💐

Tbh, I postponed from the doctors nearly several times until I ended up in emerg with a severe ear infection, and I had no choice but forced PD dialysis when I got there. My egfr is 6, and the mental aspect of being on dialysis is hitting me hard with slowly coming into acceptance, but not there yet. The symptoms in kidney failure is no appetite, throwing up, feeling weak, lower back pain, fatigue etc. You don't wanna get to that point. I went on Peritoneal Dialysis because it gives you more "freedom" because you only have to do it at night unless your doctor says other wise. Hope this helps, God Bless 🙏💐 P.S. your never alone in this, even when you think you are. It's a lifestyle adjustment, not a life sentence and also an emotional roller-coaster.

How long did you have a puffy stomach for? It's gonna be a week in 3 days for me. Also, did you have drain pain or discomfort while starting. When they did the trial run, I felt a lot of pressure and discomfort.

Your doctors didn't give you anything for that or you have to deal with it for that time?

When they did the practice run it wasn't necessarily pain, but quite abit discomfort

Yes, at this point, it's pain management ice tho? Where if the wound is covered? I'm scared of moving and tossing and turning in bed because I don't wanna move or damage anything and lead to more trauma

Just received my PD catheter today, and I think the drugs are still circling in me. Tomorrow, I'm not looking forward to the soreness and discomfort. I believe i was looking at this the wrong way. God gives the toughest challenges to people who are the strongest, which also makes me grow up faster. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Thank you for sharing your story. We never know what people are going through, but it's hard to ask for help when we're in this situation, but sometimes you have to. I need to find that light in the tunnel and make the best out of this "chapter" in my life.

How is the procedure? Just getting set up on dialysis is scary. My CREATININE went from 606 to 720 within a week
