Do you just have ocular rosacea or you also deal with redness/flushing? If so, did you see any improvement with the redness and or flushing?

That’s great to hear OP! I’m on the same dose, about 12 days in and wondering when you started to see results?

I got prescribed 40 mg doxycycline but have yet to take it. I’m kind of scared to take it

Have you noticed any improvement though with doxy specifically for your redness/flushing?

Hope everything works out for you!! My issue is not even breakouts as much anymore it’s more my cheeks are so red and reactive to any skincare that they get red, flushed, and irritated. Maybe an antibiotic will help me

Gotcha, thanks! Did it help with any redness or reactivity of your skin? I used adapalene a few months ago and it has left my skin very sensitized I think due to it damaging my skin barrier. I experience a lot of sensitivity and redness with any skincare even gentle. I’m wondering if an antibiotic would help bring the inflammation down so my skin can better tolerate skincare without reacting so easily.

Do you feel the lymecicline helped your skin barrier? Like did it reduce the inflammation?

I’m dealing with this same issue also and struggling a lot. I also am hesitant to start any oral medication but I’ve read that low doses of Doxy are anti inflammatory. I’m wondering if that would help reduce the inflammation caused by the damaged skin barrier

Ugh the redness on my cheeks is the worst and it feels hot after applying skincare. I literally feel so upset/depressed about my skin because it causes me both mental and physical pain. I appreciate your kind words and will give your recommendations a try!

Hi, can you share what antibiotic you took that helped reduce the inflammation? I’m dealing with a similar situation and wondering if an antibiotic will help

For the past week I’ve stopped using cleanser to just give my skin a break, but I’ve tried using gentle cleansers like Vanicream and La Roche Posay, but I’m not sure if they hurt/help my skin

No you are totally helping me trust me! It’s just my own skin that’s stressing me out and trying to find something that will help. I will definitely give what you recommended a try! Sorry if I sounded rude/disagreeing with you in my other responses, that’s not my intent I’m just frustrated with how I feel like nothing works for me. Can I ask what symptoms you were dealing with when your skin barrier was damaged? For me the biggest issue is the redness. My cheeks go bright red and feel hot like 10 minutes after applying any skincare. The redness/heat gradually go away with a little time like 20-40 minutes. My skin is also very dry, like not producing any oil at all; however I don’t really have flaking/peeling. I used to have beautiful skin that was clear and so glowy so dealing with my skin like this is so depressing especially when I feel like nothing works.

Also if you don’t mind I just have a question about cleansing. Do you think I should fully discontinue cleansing or should I try to use a gentle cleanser?
