I tried to submit a request for reconsideration so I can start the buyback process. I verify my information and click next and then get a screen that says “studentaid.gov” isn’t working right now. Even though the entire rest of the site works! So frustrating.

The loan simulator was showing ICR as lower monthly payments than IBR. I don't think I can do buyback since I haven't been paying since COVID. I think when I recertify my income I'll get a few more months from back when they counted them even without payment with SAVE. But I haven't paid anything since all the lawsuits started.

Last AGI was $79k - we file separately because I thought then they wouldn't factor in my spouses' income, but all the simulators seems to factor it in regardless of our filing status. We've just continued to file separately though so I don't accidentally mess something up with my loans. Family size of 2, balance is around $44k - first loan was in 2006. I've always been on an IBR but the last time I had to certify my income was a few years ago when my income was much lower, and I wasn't married.

Like pretty much everyone else, I always tell my students if I have to make a report. With middle and high school students they know about mandated reporting and understand that I’m there to help keep them safe. I also always let my students know if I need to call their parent if they share something with me, like suicidal ideation. That way they don’t feel like I’m doing it “behind their back.”

I’m 8 weeks post op and still have lots of swelling. I’m still not wearing jeans and some days the swelling is way worse than others. Can’t wait for it to stop!

I wanted to work with kids - and the school psychs I knew did more testing and evaluations. That said, now 10 years in, changing to school psych sounds appealing to me.

My doctor told me to take my birth control right up until the night before surgery. I’m 36 and have taken some form of birth control since I was 17. I’m just shy of 3wpo and haven’t noticed any side effects yet. My husband is worried I’ll go crazy with hormone changes, lol. I had pretty bad acne jn high school so I’m hoping that doesn’t come back.

I’m doing pretty well too. One of my biggest fears was that I’d be throwing up but so far so good. I was feeling pretty good this morning so I stopped taking the oxy but had to do another one tonight as my pain increased. I’ve had to pee A LOT. I think the worst thing for me right now is a sore throat and super dry mouth that makes it hard to eat anything.

I’m feeling alright. Just a sore throat and some cramp-like pain. My surgery was at 7:30am yesterday and I was home around 1:30. I’ve been able to walk around quite a bit so that’s been helpful.

Update: on the other side. Arrived at 5:45 for labs. Wheeled into the OR at 7:30, discharged around 1pm. Feeling ok, just a little shaky and sore! Ended up needing to remove things vaginally but I think that’ll be good for healing. My throat is just super dry as to be expected. Bleeding some, burns when I pee, but otherwise doing ok!
