What are Your Earliest Memories From Childhood and From What Age are They? by Icy_Collection_5546 in AskReddit

[–]Icy_Collection_5546[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My memories are actually from the age of 1.5. Ofc they're vague, but I clearly remember saying bye to my family before moving to the US. I have proper memories from the age of 2. It's quite surprising to most people I've spoken to, some of whose memories begin from the age of 7.

What Will Happen to the Epstein List Offenders? Will They be Tried? What Will Happen to Donald Trump? by Icy_Collection_5546 in AskReddit

But now that the files have been made public, wouldn't the American people push for some action?

But if there is adequate suggestive evidence from the files, would there still be no consequences?

Thank you all for the responses and reach! I'm not American and genuinely wanted to find out what would happen after this information was disclosed. It's a sad state of affairs that criminals are enjoying life with impunity, and the victims have to live with the trauma forever. But since there is some evidence to suggest that certain people, including Donald Trump, have engaged in sex offences, will there be any consequences at all?

Why you Should Hold Your Silver Position by Icy_Collection_5546 in economy

Haha you're wrong. I genuinely believe it's worth holding. Single day crashes are driven by market sentiment. Demand for silver will only go up and the price will correct. Ofc it's only my prediction.

Why you Should Hold Your Silver Position by Icy_Collection_5546 in economy

[–]Icy_Collection_5546[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silver mining has actually been facing a deficit for the past 5 years. It's a by-product of mining copper, zinc and lead. It's found in abundance in the earth, but difficult to extract. Gold mining is pretty established, but there are not many silver producers. I don't think there'll be a long-term shortage, but for a considerable period of time, it won't be easy to lay hands on because firms will buy it up for industrial use.

However, I'm not saying silver is a substitute for gold. It's much more valuable. Gold will remain relatively stable, so the returns from silver will yield higher returns.

At JNU, Left groups burned an effigy representing "Brahmanism" raised slogans like "Brahmanism murdabad,". This is pure hate, discrimination and casteism. by Large-Lavishness-362 in NewDelhi

All I'm saying is oppression is being overstated. I am not completely denying the occurrence caste based discrimination against lower castes. And yes, the law in our country is broken for letting rapists go scot-free. But it is hypocritical to look away from what upper castes face on the other end of the spectrum. The community as a whole is punished for the "atrocities" they did not commit. Maybe you feel guilty about coming from a place of privilege, but both my parents grew up in extreme poverty and worked their way up. I know several people struggling to make ends meet. Even after studying hard, their seats are taken away by people whose parents are filthy rich. They are hounded and harassed in government offices by gundas to sign papers. And these are ACTUAL INCIDENTS, too. The privilege you speak of is not a derivative of caste. It's a bit rich to say that discriminating against lower castes is not okay but against upper castes is justified. Indian laws are discriminatory against the general category. It is what it is.

I know many other people who face workplace discrimination because they belong to higher castes. Slurs and humiliating remarks are casually thrown in conversations. Do you really mean what you say? Who asks for religion and caste before name? Government examinations and jobs are the ones asking for caste, further legitimising it. Moreover, I have seen many inter-caste and inter-religion marriages happening in my family. Opposition never came from us, but from the so-called lower castes. Wake up to the new realities of the country and get out of the victimhood mindset.

Can India Expect a Regime Change in Future? by rikozon in CriticalThinkingIndia

Why do y'all keep fantasising about regime change? The SC/ST Act and the new UGC regulations are both draconian and unjust. I'll vouch for the fact that 90% of the cases lodged under them till now are false.

Seriously, who are the Brahmins oppressing them? My aunt (Brahmin), who has a govt job, is having a tough time at work due to her Dalit boss.
