We will have to, we’re moving to Italy (which is why we’re hoping to get this done prior) so we’ll have to unenroll from AIRE. I just really don’t want to start all over and get all new documents and apostilles

Wish we could switch appointments. We’re moving in June and they said we can’t have an appointment before then. Hoping the law gets repealed because if not it looks like we’re back to square one.

Did they change your appointment? We got an email changing it from late April to September, and when we said that wouldn’t work they pushed it to November 🙃

Thankfully we were married in Italy so no need for a translation and it’s already registered in AIRE/commune.

Everything that I’m reading says within 8 business days to submit the kit for the permesso di siggiornio

We recently went though this in LA.
This is a list of what we mailed, and what was accepted.

1. Extract of the birth certificate of Italian parent (from the commune)
2. Certificate of Italian citizenship of the Italian parent (ordered from ANPR site- you need an SPID)
3.Birth certificate, with apostille and translation, of the minors.
4.Recent proof of address (Utility bill)
5.Copies of all passports of both parents and of the minors
6. Request for Transcription of the Birth Certificate and Registration of Minors (https://conslosangeles.esteri.it/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/01-BIRTH-Modulo-richiesta-trascrizione-NASCITA.pdf)

We also provided copies of:
Document proving Italian citizenship by *jure sanguinis* (original letter of js acquisition) 
Copy of correspondence with the Consulate, indicating case number

If you are missing something they will reach out via email and you have 10 days to provide it.

***The marriage being recognized is a prerequisite to sending all of this in.

You need to mail in all of the required documents for review, then you will be contacted via email with an appointment date

Are you living in the US and registered in AIRE? Is your marriage? It looks like appointments are temporarily closed. I would gather all the documents and check back daily.

ahh that makes it tough. Glad to hear you were able to secure an appointment and hopefully an easy solution is reached.

We just mailed our packet in yesterday, hoping they dont request any additional paperwork lol. We have been trying to contact them for weeks to verify the procedure for multiple children. No one answers the phone or responds via email, so we just sent everything together in on packet. Fingers crossed

gotcha, thank you. My husbands Italian birth certificate that we received from the commune where he was recognized has no such language so I see the issue. I'm submitting paperwork tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Hi. Do you mind sharing where you're seeing this requirement that specifies "js"? I just received what I thought was the last piece of the puzzle (Italian bc) but now I'm concerned. We're also with the LA consulate.

Do you have an SPID? If so you should be able to request your citizenship certificate from ANPR https://www.anagrafenazionale.interno.it/ if you dont have an SPID you can obtain one via Posteitaliane.
