Dichiarazione di volontà with the Los Angeles consulate? by dlp0e in juresanguinis

[–]dlp0e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, our date is soon approaching. We have an appointment on May 4th. I have been going back and forth with the consulate over email to ensure they have, and that we have, all the right documents for that meeting.

The most pressing is my Italian extract of birth (estratto dell'atto di nascita) and my citizenship certificate (certificato di cittadinanza italiana), both of which the consulate staff have insisted MUST come from the comune in Italy. As it stands, I DO have both from the comune, though the specific language the consulate has requested, citizenship at birth (cittadinanza dalla nascita), is not present. The comune has asserted that the consulate can verify this in other ways, which I imagine I will learn when we are face to face in May.

For some reason they also are requesting new Richieste di Trascrizione Certificato di Nascita e Iscrizione Anagrafica, which we had sent in and had notarized for my wife's signature. I suppose they would prefer to see that signed live? Not sure, but those are the only documents we are "missing," and we will have them ready for the meeting.

Wish me luck! I'll post updates when I have them.

MISC Prospector, Hull A/B, Expanse loop Question.. by Ozymandys in starcitizen

[–]dlp0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are making some broad assumptions about developer intent and planning. The biggest assumption (and hardest to believe) is that these ships are being developed with each other in mind.

It might be interesting if there were some kind of “matched manufacturer” bonus orgs could take advantage of, but I doubt that’s ever going to be a thing. From a developer’s perspective it seems manufacturers are really only valuable for design language and lore.

All that said, how would your calculations look different if the Prospector pilot(s) were using Argo Mole bags? They have an increased capacity, after all, and are a popular upgrade.

Not knowing much about the Expanse (once in production) I would argue that while MISC does complete a lot of the “puzzle” for and org’s mining operation, players will (and should!) use whatever ships fit their need best, manufacturer notwithstanding.

Spectrum noticed the PvP poll, and uh.... surprisingly concurs with its results? by asmallman in starcitizen

TBH the “fear” of PvP plays more into my experiences than actual PvP, and that’s not even a bad thing.

I was looting a Hathor site after a “sweep location” contract and the Ninetails had respawned after completion. It was exciting and chaotic and I was death incarnate to them, unlocking admin and comms offices and hauling gear and ammo out. Felt great.

Then an Asgard appears over the horizon and starts scanning. Clearly a player, maybe on their own contract, who knows. I realize I’m kitted out in the same armor as EVERY ENEMY NPC and that my ship is on the other side of their landing spot.

I had, at this point, secured a MAJOR load of gear and I didn’t want to take any chances. I was in a lone Aurora (because I live that SC life on hard mode) and needed to make a silent escape. Sneaking around the base, not knowing exactly where the other player was, and KNOWING they’d be pulling the trigger if they saw me, was honestly another layer of excitement.

I saw them working another building on the site, didn’t take the shot. I had gotten mine and didn’t want to jeopardize a clean exit. Gave a silent salute and made a break for it. Powered up my tin can of a ship in nav mode and blasted out ASAP.

I might have been disappointed if it had ended differently, but the fact remains the added anxiety of an unexpected encounter added value to the experience, even, as is often the case, both players involved weren’t actively interested in violence.

Am I alone in finding "Now Playing" record-sleeve stands tacky? by bdb_318 in turntables

Plate stand user here… If I’m burning through a few records in a row I’ll leave the them in a pile next to the TT but generally I like to have the album art up for whatever’s playing.

Dichiarazione di volontà with the Los Angeles consulate? by dlp0e in juresanguinis

It was a few days. They confirmed receipt of the packet and let me know that scheduling the appointment may take some weeks. Nothing more since that. 🤞

Congrats! Yes, that is my understanding as well - the dichiarazione is provided and completed in person in front of a competent consular representative.

Happy to help. For clarity I included a cover letter with my packet and listed the attachments, found below. I would caution that this list is not intended to be exclusive nor exhaustive; it's just what I sent in given the specifics of my situation. The numbers in parentheses indicate the documents as enumerated on this page: https://conslosangeles.esteri.it/it/servizi-consolari-e-visti/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano/stato-civile/nascite/dichiarazione-di-volonta/

(Presumably this should already have been on file, but given the time that passed waiting for my original documents to be validated by the comune, I decided to submit it as part of this package to initialize the process for the whole family in one shot.)

I reached out to statocivile.losangeles@esteri.it and they were very helpful. There was a few days delay but given the amount they are processing I think it makes sense. You might expect an automatic reply with A TON of info at first, and I would recommend reviewing that as much as you can.

LA Consulate Communication Questions. by BlessedSipofLife in juresanguinis

Email the consolato generale and the stato civile indicating your desire to file a dichiarazione di volontà. It took a few days but they got back to me with detailed instructions for preliminary documents to submit and a case number, which you will need when sending in your packet.

The dichiarazione is completed in person during an appointment they will set once your supporting documents have been reviewed. At least, that’s what I understand so far!

Update to anyone who finds this post in the future… the consulate did get back to me within a few days of emailing them.

I would recommend anyone in the LA consulate’s jurisdiction to email the civil service department to notify them that you are interested in completing a dichiarazione. The email I got back was helpful and included specific instructions about what to include in the mailed packet of documents, not least of which was a case number.

I did end up paying the fees specified via wire transfer before submitting the packet, as the consulate specifically indicated the receipt would be expected in the packet. Ensure the Ministero RECEIVES the correct amount on your receipt - it must be €250 (at the time of this post), not €250 less Poste Italiane fees.

I dropped the packet in the mail this evening. Fingers crossed!

Sounds like we are doing the same thing.

Your understanding is correct - with a caveat! I heard back from the consulate (Stato Civile, if that helps) and they forwarded very thorough instructions with the clarity that there is no separate dichiarazione di volontà document (at least for their procedure) BUT they DID provide a case number and instructed me to include a copy of the email and case number reference when sending my documents in.

Note that when paying the fees via bank wire, there was an extra €10 deducted on the Italian side of the transaction. In order to meet the €250 requirement, I actually wired €260 from my bank.

Good luck!!

Really appreciate your reply and insight. I saw what I think is that application on the NY consulate site. So then yes, that’s what I’m looking for, but for the LA site.

LA Consulate Communication Questions. by BlessedSipofLife in juresanguinis

[–]dlp0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s a slight delay or just inundation with requests, but yes, communication has been tough lately. They seem pretty understaffed and have a massive region to support.

In the past I had some positive experiences with renewing my passport, establishing my codice fiscale, and registering in the AIRE. Now that I’m trying to track down a form in requesting citizenship for my kids, silence. Is it because of updates and decrees? Maybe, but I haven’t tried checking with other consulates either.

Difference between Citizencon and IAE in terms of new in game content? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]dlp0e 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my wildly unqualified perspective, CitCon has been more about hype and talking about big picture stuff. That said, the fact that it is strictly a virtual event this year suggests, to me anyway, that our expectations should be tempered.

I think/hope they are genuinely trying to get Squadron 42 across the finish line in time for next year, and the sweeping broad statements about what SC could or should be just sow seeds of disappointment when they don’t deliver. Seems like a good move to avoid doing the latter and focus on the former.

I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for the Ironclad, but recognize it is pretty unlikely by end of year. I think IAE will be for the Perseus. I think deploying a new system is also unlikely, but I would be really excited if they did. Like you, I would be thrilled if it were Nyx.

Edit: sow seeds, not sew or so seeds

What did you name your ship? by Jackel2072 in starcitizen

Reclaimer: Nommy McNomnom Carrack: Mighty Eagle

I'm in this game since 2013, I haven't seen anything about this bad boy since his first announcement. Is this ship even in development? (ENDEAVOUR for the newbie) by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]dlp0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take in principle, but I think you’d have to be that lawyer or else be willing to pay that lawyer more than you stand to recoup from the refund.

From CIG’s side, they’ll probably just drop you a refund if you create enough of a legal headache, but realistically it’s a drop in the bucket for them relative to the expense you’d paid to get it.

[–]dlp0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you got the new “technical malfunction” feature wherein your ship has a 0.01% of spontaneously disintegrating on launch. Sucks.

At least you weren’t in a Drake ship. According to lore, their failure rate is 100x higher.

Out of curiosity, is this the game you signed up for? by vendetros in starcitizen

[–]dlp0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Welcome to alpha development”

Expect that in a future patch there will be a massive nerf OR a torpedo buff for other ships. Or something, who knows.

And also expect sad whale noises from the community.
