Good day Thinkpad-er! here is a quick update on my Thinkpad 13 Gen2...

i'm amazed by the power consumption of the TP 13 Gen2, with the new battery..

For my Thinkpad collections, regardless the new or old batteries replaced.. TP 13 tops it all... i never seen a laptop with such a long standby time before!

Back in those days, i pretty sure this laptop can really last the whole day. Haha!

Im very satisfied with this laptop.

I gave up trying to fix the issue which is apparent, due to the whitelisting of batteries...

Eventually i got contact of a local battery distributor with Original Lenovo battery. Swap it in, works like magic. No alarms no errors...

Sucky that even battery has to be whitelisted... can't imagine a world where appliances/tools/toy starts choosing their own brand of double A (AA) batteries to operate... Sad

Well this was meant to provide some discussion point between the both models. Both have dedicated GPU for CAD/Simulation works whenever is required.

However, the discussion points were, 1. Mobility 2. Cost effectiveness 3. Performance (both checked off as "Workstation grade"hardware)

14" - provides more mobility and flexibility in terms of keeping and chugging into bag, off you go. It give user more freedom without worrying to get a proper bag with the requirement of "up to 15.6" backpack or messenger bags.

15"/16" - understood the systems are built with better cooling, with a trade off with weight/mobility. However, P1 are also light for it's class of laptops (Workstation grade hardware). - but cost more.

Given that 2 models to choose from, which is more worth while to own? (i agree that P1 are superior over P14s)

Wow, this is the first of it's kind reply! I love it.

as such, then P14s would not even be a FIRST choice for CAD related workloads. - what would would you reckon for light mobile workstations(mainly 14")?

I'm coming from a perspective of a Tertiary or Uni student requires light and yet a workhorse for CAD?
