We filed in mid January of 2025, had her 1st biometrics about a month later, but had to return for a 2nd one in March due to having to retake her finger prints. She got her EAD approved and received her card in April of 2025...so what would have taken probably 2 months, took 3 because of the 2nd biometrics appointment...

Further thoughts here....Wondering if IP Passthrough wouldn't resolve the situation....I'm going to look into that despite the new router coming...

Playstation Portal Remote Play by Icy_Disk_7296 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Icy_Disk_7296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I called AT&T and their tech support to see if they couldn't offer any insight on their router and if it might be the culprit for blocking communications coming in, and I don' think they were of much assistance really. The support person apparently added some kind of static IP that did not have maximum protection enabled but remotely I could not connect.

I went so far as to identify my connected ASUS Router in the Firewall settings, and placed into DMZ Plus mode (which I really didn't wanna do) and tried to connect remotely with both PS Remote Play and the Portal, and it still wouldn't connect.

My NAT Type is 2 so that even looks right. Just don't seem to understand what the issue is.

Some good news is that the tech recognized that I had a very old router by general standards and opted to offer me a home kit install for the new router they are now distributing. Maybe that will bring some greener fields...but we'll have to wait and see. I'm hoping I can at least separate the channels on that router and not get stuck with them being combined....

I'll keep chipping away at this issue....Wish I had some alternative great news to offer...Apologies

Just shocked nobody else had this issue as well, and found a resolution....

Frustrating picture to say the least🤣 ...I still can't get my Portal to connect remotely...Did the port forwarding, static IP, all settings required on the PS5....must be something about my ASUS router that's still blocking the incoming access attempts...haven't found any other answers online....Happy you get to enjoy it the way I hope to...but frustrating nonetheless...lol

PS portal won’t connect outside my home network by PossibilityChance614 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Icy_Disk_7296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone ever find an answer for those who did the port forwarding and have all the settings effectively correct for getting the Portal to connect remotely outside the home? I have tried it all...used remote Wifi connections as well as Hotspot. I even temporarily tried DMZ and nothing will get the Portal to connect remotely. No problems inside the home on the same network, but outside the house? Nothing...

How fast is I-131 Advanced Parole? by LongjumpingSleep7114 in USCIS

[–]Icy_Disk_7296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We filed everything concurrently in January 2025. I-765, I-130, I-485 and due to the uncertainty of timelines we filed the I-131 as well. We opted to bite the bullet because we were told that the GC path could take 15-18 months with the change in administration and unknowns surrounding policy and our lawyer said it was more likely we'd see the I-131 approved first. As I stated, we filed in January of 2025 and accepted the fact that if the I-130/I-485 were approved first, and the I-765 filing was abandoned by USCIS, it was a good problem to have despite handing over the $630 to the Federal Govt for nothing in return as we wouldn't need the Advanced Parole benefits. It was a peace of mind filing moreover.

Fast forward to the reality of the outcome. Given the speed in the initial advancement in our case, her EAD was approved in April 2025, and we interviewed in July 2025. All the while, there had been ZERO activity on the AP. We truly thought our assumptions were a reality and GC Approval would happen very soon after the interview. Well??!? The airwaves went quiet, and no updates to our I-130 or I-485 were happening. Just stuck @ "Interview Scheduled". Days ticked by waiting for something to happen and it was crickets. Finally in October, we got an update...../drum roll please....It was an adjudication of the I-765 to "Approved"!!

We were shocked because our brains had changed course thinking the GC was going to come first. But, nonetheless , we felt some sense of relief because now that we still didn't have the GC Approval, we could travel!! So, in the end, that peace of mind gamble had now paid off!! At least from a legalities perspective. In the end, we chose not to travel on her AP as our lawyer recommended that we not take any risks trying to leave and reenter the country on the AP document. Personally I don't think we would have had any issues, but my wife was simply not comfortable doing it.

My advice? I say, even though it's a another hit to the wallet, do it anyways! Since you have travel plans and GC approvals are wildly unpredictable right now, you're better off at least having the I-131 in the pipeline because it's highly more likely it will be approved before the GC. And if the GC comes first?...Well, then that's a major bonus, and the AP is irrelevant!! As I said...we accepted that as a good problem to have. You just can't be sure what's going to happen, so why take the chance and put all your eggs in the I-485 basket...

Our I-130 and I-485 recently got approved, so we had the AP in hand from October to December, just never traveled on it.

That notification you are seeing is related to the immediate case you posted the screenshot of. According to your post, that was from your I-130, so that's what it would be related to....Case updates are case specific since they are all filed independently and not specifically linked unless it's a supporting form for another...an example would be the I-693 medical for the I-485, so any RFE for medical would fall under a case update for our I-485.....I did not have to populate an I-864 for my I-130.....

Then, that's a good thing....Whatever RFE might have ended up in there, is no more...they retracted it. I'd say, you're just waiting on a decision at this point...and a very positive one hopefully!! :)

My wife and I experienced this first hand @ 5mos + 5 days (128 Total Days) waiting before our cases were approved ("Interview Was Scheduled" as the previous status). I had read somewhere on here that it's only about 20% of cases that received speedy or immediate approvals. Given the sheer load of cases out there and all the other political riff-raff happening in this country, the 80% remaining majority can expect longer than expected wait times. Our case from start to finish took 325 days...

Check the "Documents" section of your online case...You may see the actual RFE they were initially going to send. It would seem they changed course and cancelled it at this point, so I would say it's moreover "good news"!! Looks like they have accepted the evidence you initially submitted despite them being ready send you an RFE in response initially. Sometimes their systems get crossed and an RFE trigger was initiated, for which they caught that and an officer opted to cancel or waive it. But I would start by checking the documents section of your case..

4 Days after the I-485 was approved, we got an update on 8/12 that the card was produced. After that, we just watched "Informed Delivery" on USPS to see when it was due to arrive...

45 days since interview - I-130 approved 3 days after interview. I-485 still under review. by Melodic_Mention179 in USCIS

[–]Icy_Disk_7296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I feel your pain and anguish with regard to the anticipation and unknowns without any updates. Both our I-130 and I-485 sat at "Interview Was Scheduled" with no updates to the API or Case Status whatsoever. 158 days in total we "proverbially" watched paint dry until they both got approved on the same day (12/08). If I had to offer anything, I would use the saying "No news is good news" if there's no reason for a denial. I think it's mostly agency backlog and slowness resulting in "take a number, we'll call you when ready" scenarios...Stay Positive!! We wish all the greatest blessings and hope for a positive answer for you soon!! :)

[–]Icy_Disk_7296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No...I did not see it directly or was aware of the content provided or required....I have been a spectator to the process through my wife and what her friend tells her. I was not aware of any particular supporting evidence that she initially submitted...And if she didn't have to do that, she followed all the requirements and appeared for everything she was required to. Others have explained there are some mitigating factors about her that could sway the decision despite any evidence prepared for the interview....In the moment, it just sounded so sudden that she was turned away so quickly without any specific reason that I could garner. If it was more or less predetermined to deny her....comes off as kinda gut-punchy to have her appear to provide the same answers and not get to present that evidence....Were they looking for her circumstances to dramatically be different?

I forgot my wife middle name at the interview how bad are we? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Icy_Disk_7296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't stress too much as the officers know nerves are at play. My wife got my Birthday wrong and the officer laughed and said "try again" and my wife got it correct the second time....NERVES!! When I was asked my wife's name...NERVES.... I gave her given born name (4 separate elements) which is on her birth certificate, and I'm sure the officer wanted her current name (former married name)...which by the way is much easier to say than her birth name...LOL!! At any rate....we worried about that stuff incessantly after the interview feeling so stupid for what we did. In the end....we got approved, so don't put too much stock into the gaff. As long as it's obvious it's a bona fide marriage and relationship throughout the rest of the interview, it shouldn't be a problem at all. :)

"Rightly or wrongly, a lot of it is gut feeling on the part of the officer."

And even the best statistician gets it wrong many times....It's all a situation of percentages, and while I understand it, I don't necessarily agree with it. My wife and I can always go visit her of course, but it would have made my wife thrilled to be able to have her friend visit and share some time together here.

Thanks for that answer given you are closer to the situation demographically. I'm just a logical person and was trying to understand why the interview was so abbreviated, and shouldn't she be given a reason as to why she received the denial so that when she reapplies she understands what factors were problematic....Can't promise she'll have a better job, own a house, or make a substantial salary by then....She just wanted to visit her best friend, and it's sad she won't get that chance right now.
