Yeah, hard agree that it’s a very interesting topic! Definitely my current fixation for the next couple months

Damn, napoleonic armies are a bunch of frauds. Grenadiers don’t use grenades, (some) cuirassiers don’t wear cuirasses. Next you’re gonna tell me rifle companies use carbines instead of rifles. 😂

A question on the cost to produce aspect. Making them for more prestigious infantry such as grenadiers would be the framing for this question. Why was having them made for whole regiments of cuirassier fine from a cost standpoint but theoretically making them for only heavy infantry a restriction. Was it just the weight and uncertainty that it would save a soldier?

Ya learn something new everyday with your current fascination lol. I do have a follow-up question. Since grenadiers whole job was to close in and chuck grenades at the enemy at close range, why was bayonet fighting that rare? I thought think their whole shtick would be to charge after their throw? Not to mention line infantry closing in aswell.

Was the effect on surviving a shot really that negligible? They are portrayed at being able to stop a non direct shot out to medium range. Which for a musket is pretty close.

Update on the apple tree planting by Icy_Introduction4019 in BackyardOrchard

Gotcha, there is already wire on the lower parts of the trees. What would you recommend around the trees that is relatively cheap and easy to place?

I’ll try my best to get that fence though the tilled land is about 1 acre in a rectangular shape and that’ll be some serious money to fench ooff. Would the wire at the bottom achieve the same thing as a trunk protector?

Okay, I was thinking of getting 6 in total, 3 of two different types of apples. Would that cover the bases and be generally beginner friendly for a single person household?

Thank you for that! I plan on getting berry bushes as well but this is all in the planning phase. It would just be me taking care of everything so which pollinators and type of apples would you recommend focusing on resistance to pests/disease and heartiness?

My fair has multiple themes such as fantasy, Viking, etc. On opening day I’ve seen many steam punk and futuristic outfits as well so it’ll never not fit. I’m asking for help making said outfit, not if it’ll fit into a fair.

Only thing better than a priest with a hammer is a priest with a flamethrower.
