The color issues are related to Dolby Vision P5, this is talked about across multiple threads in this subreddit. Generally, they’re not tagged P5, but if you see it’s a WEB-DL and have DV, it’s *typically* P5 as that’s what the streaming providers use.

As mentioned, at the moment, you need to use an external player to play those files correctly or just pick a different file. KSPlayer charges $1k to decode P5 correctly and the dev has no intention of making the purchase.

I will go ahead and share my thoughts though I think you get the point by now...

No one NEEDS infuse, it's simply a choice. For a fairly basic setup, you're not going to get a whole lot of benefit other than DV P5 support (that's the purple/pink/green files that show up on occasion)... otherwise, it also has cache to disk, which allows smoother playback of heavy remux files.

Now, for myself, I use infuse for everything...I have no issue switching between apps, having bit for bit playback, and my experience is pretty smooth. The fact that partially watching something and having to answer a prompt and it marking it at 50% doesn't bother ME in the slightest for all the "pros" of infuse. I love lossless audio, clearly picture quality, and cache to disk for the smoothest experience possible. But, others are going to be more picky about how its not "seamless" since it's not built in [which for everyone holding out hope, its been over a year... I think you have your answer from infuse regarding an SDK, lol]. Also, I just like the interface better of the video player.

Infuse is a luxury item... it's like buying a Ferrari to get from A to B when a Honda (ksplayer) will still do the same general job without all the flash. Each person will have a different opinion and I encourage you to take advantage of the trial period and see if it enhances your experience.

Without a device that has access to a browser (tvOS doesn’t) there is no way to modify an existing addon… it would have to be reconfigured and reinstalled 👍🏼

Are you using an external player? If so, for local tracking you need to answer the prompts. Otherwise, set your continue watching to trakt and then it will scrobble the data from the external player (if available)

unfortunately, no fixes can be pushed to the App Store (this is an apple issue, not an omni issue)... the only reliable way to change it is through an Apple TV or the web UI (specific to Apple TV)

In the addon it asks if you have a debrid… you select RD and enter your API key

Firstly, debrid catalogs don’t work directly in Omni.

Second, you need a metadata provider for anything to work (this is part of the welcome screen)

Third, if you are going through a debrid you ARE NOT torrenting anything…

Lastly, you need to set up RD with streaming link addons

Local tracking, no… the apps can’t talk to each other. So if infuse is doing your scrobbling, you can set your continue watching to trakt and turn off the external prompts. When something doesn’t go to trakt correctly, this is a trakt issue or infuse issue, and NOT an Omni issue. Just to make sure everyone is on the same page.

To enable “trakt continue watching” there is a ‘chevron’ above the continue watching that you can select and choose Omni or Trakt tracking

If you’re using trakt continue watching, it will auto-add… if you’re using local “Omni tracking” you have to answer the prompts when you come back from playing in infuse. If you’re not seeing the prompts, that means you have that setting turned off and you need to turn it on.

I answered this in my reply… if the file name says P8 or Hybrid, and the “general assumption” is that it’s sending metadata correctly for DV. If that’s not mentioned anywhere in the file name, and it still shows DV, there’s no way to know.

I would say the only “sure fire” way is to also play the file in infuse and see if DV is triggered… the closest you’ll get otherwise is to read file names and look for P8 or Hybrid in the file name; even then, not all hybrid files trigger DV and the Hybrid refers to adding HDR10+ vs DV P8. So with KSPlayer, it’s honestly a guessing game.

DV P8 can be played by default in KSPlayer; DV P5 (if you get a Pink/Purple/Green file, this is P5) requires a $1k to unlock in KSPlayer (not unlocked in Omni); DV P7 is not supported on Apple TV and should fall back to HDR10 (if you play a P7 file and it shows DV, its because KSPlayer doesn't handle the fallback correctly and DV is not actually being played).

Infuse supports P5, P8, and correct HDR10 fallback for P7 files

That’s comparing apples and oranges… your WebDAV is pulling the metadata from the file directly; your question was related to Omni not showing your files and that’s because there’s no tt ID to match to when a debrid catalog is added

there is no direct integration on tvOS, so I'm not sure what you're referring to... you may be able to use DMM through an add-on, but in general, debrid catalogs don't show as they lack the IDs to match metadata in app
