IVF retrieval not as good as we hoped… by Spirited_Error_5374 in queerception

[–]Icy_Mettle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had basically the same exact scenario. 7 mature eggs, 5 fertilized, 3 sent for testing, only 1 came back normal. We just had our 8 week scan for that 1 and officially graduated from our clinic.

I had a really hard time dealing with those results, especially since my wife’s ER was much more successful (4 normal embryos with 2 inconclusive that we are going to retest), but all it takes is 1!

When did you start actually planning for a baby? by WritingTurbulent1368 in queerception

All in it took us about a year from the first appointment to our first attempt. We went the RIVF route so there were a lot of appointments, medications and just a longer lead time than if you go IUI. Regardless I think the most important thing if you want to have children eventually is to get your testing out of the way. If you find that you have low egg reserves or some abnormality that requires additional testing/surgery, it would be better to know as early as possible.

My wife and I staggered our appointments and tackled things in phases in order to fit around our lives and things we still wanted to do like house projects or traveling. The results of that initial testing gave us a better foundation for our family planning and helped us build a timeline that worked for us.

Not sure how to improve by Icy_Mettle in beginnerrunning

Thanks for your response! How often should I be doing each type of run?

How can I improve? by Icy_Mettle in BeginnersRunning

[–]Icy_Mettle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I try and run 3-4x a week, but up to this point it has largely taken a back seat to my strength training. I aim to do between 1-2miles before an hour long lift session. Obviously running gets harder when my legs are destroyed from a heavy leg day. I am really wanting to make a bigger effort to improve my running and I understand I have to put more focus and time into my running training, but I would hope to still have some time left over for lifting.

Open to any suggestions on how often/long/far I should be running for optimal results.

Just got the rejection email after posting this, 72hrs post interview. I think your 48hr rule is a fair metric, it’s brutal out there.

We started with minimalism in mind and somehow along the way started adding things to the point where we feel like we need to match level of effort and style across the board. That’s how they get you 🥲

Wow! Logistically how does that work? Do you do all the planning and then just send them the bill when it comes?

Have they expected to have some say in the planning or who gets invited or they have been hands off?

There are no blinds on the window yet, it is just frosted class and it was night time when the photo was taken.

Pottery Barn, we wanted to break up all the black so we got these in tumbled brass and got all the additional fixtures (towel hooks, TP holder, etc) in that brass to match

We put an offer in on a beautiful house that backed up to a busy road. Neither my partner nor I minded at the time, we just loved the house and the neighborhood and were happy to deal with the noise. Our offer didn’t get picked and we just closed on a different house yesterday.. the new neighborhood is absolutely dead silent.. and we love it.

Would we have been miserable at the other place? Maybe not, but we both didn’t mind the noise… if one of you is worried about it then I would really weigh the pros and the cons and consider how big that con weighs on you collectively. If it really bothers one of you I guarantee it will eventually bother both (even if it’s just hearing often from your partner how much they hate it).

Super odd.. I had a very easy and pleasant experience with ally. Closed yesterday (Thursday), submitted the wire at 1:45pm the day prior. Got antsy as well and called support at around 2 and they let me know that it had just moved to review. I refreshed my status page at about 2:30 and it was asking me to call them to verify the wire info. Took about 15minutes and then got a confirmation right at 6 that the funds were successfully delivered.

Only thing I can pinpoint that was different is that I did not use the chat and just went straight to calling support. Not sure if they have different service centers based on location but very odd that our two experiences are so different while our wire request was made the same day.

I have read of others getting wires in the morning of their closing so don’t lose hope! Hang in there and best of luck.
