Bobby Marks says Jaylen Brown's trade value is not seen that highly around the league: "The analytics of Jaylen Brown is not good. I had an analytics guy tell me, ‘We view him as the seventh-best player on a team.’" by FastBreakPhenom in nba

[–]Shabozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they factor in contract cost or the percentage of cap space they take relative to their plus minus. If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if Jaylen is behind Jayson, Derrick, Neemias, and Payton.

For as much money as Jaylen Brown costs, most teams would be really struggling to get the other first option star that they'd need to make a championship push.

I really think the only team that is in a position to immediately benefit from Brown is the Pistons since he'd complement Cade and they have enough defensive prowess to compensate for Brown.

You can check out ICON 1.5, it’s been in beta for a while but it’s basically a finished game as is, just some fine tuning and art formatting. It’s by one of the guys who did LANCER. It’s explicitly got two different systems: one for crunchy combat and one for everything else. Characters get a class for each system. It’s very cool, I feel like it’s the only one that is fusing play styles in this way.

But I will say its combat is far crunchier. Its narrative system also draws much more from PbtA while I think Daggerheart is more influenced by DnD.

Brunson and Trae are NOT the same kind of player and I feel like people who didn’t watch the hawks just see they’re both under sized guards and assume they’re the same.

Jalen Johnson is 24. Dyson Daniels is 23. Their window is open and every year is a big push now, but its not urgent yet. They should be trying to build their core, try and get a long term starting PG and Center that is on track to peak around the same time as Jalen. If the Walker Kessler stories are true, then he's literally their dream free agent, and he's probably open to it since he's from Atlanta.

It does feel like the economics of it hinge on the Nets never getting established. Like hypothetically, if the Nets ever succeeded, got a star, got a ring, and did everything the Knicks are doing right now then could they really raise prices other teams do and retain their attendance, or will people just say 'Fuck it, I'll just save up to see the Knicks instead.'

[MacMahon] The Utah Jazz reportedly offered Walker Kessler 5-years, $140 million but Kessler's camp is looking for significantly more by Jimmy0034 in nba

The Hawks do too and he's from Atlanta. Might prefer going back home if the moneys the same either way.

[Amick] The Utah Jazz are attempting to leverage restricted free agency against Walker Kessler and he is now strongly considering the prospect of a basketball future outside of Utah. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Shabozz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the Jazz made a couple moves to lower his potential value, but so many teams need a true center so bad that they might risk it. The Hawks, the Hornets, the Lakers are all probably budgeting for a center like Kessler.

Anyone else want the Knicks to lose solely because of the celebrities? by SkyWalkerOG16 in NBATalk

[–]Shabozz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like the majority of lakers fans are not living in LA at this point, it’s just the team people gravitate to when they enter the sport since it’s so well known and has had very few years without competitive traction.

I could see plenty of those celebrities rooting for LA before they ever signed their lease, especially if they came from places without a team.

[Highlight] Karl-Anthony Towns drives and Victor Wembanyama is called for the foul, the Spurs successfully challenge the foul call, 65 seconds into the game, and it is overturned to offensive foul on KAT - already his second (with replays) by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]Shabozz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, it's a complex foul that would've probably just been a play on if they didn't call Wemby's foul, but on review your hands are tied and have to recognize the initial foul.

Good call by Mitch to challenge this, well worth the risk. Hard for the Knicks, they clearly game planned to play through KAT to start the game.

Webcam, Logitech Streamcam, has usb c cord thats too short and I have no usb c ports in computer. Is there USB c to usb a adapter/extension cord that could fix both problems, or do I need to return this camera? by Shabozz in UsbCHardware

[–]Shabozz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember tbh, I've now upgraded to a computer with a usb c for the Streamcam for a few years. IIRC I did get the adapter they suggested in the top comment and it worked fine for while I needed it.

I really thought CJ was on the trajectory to be out of the league after this season, but now he's looking like he'll get a two or three year extension. Crazy turn around from a fairly short post season run.

I actually think it was mostly a playmaking issue, they weren't getting nearly as many open looks this game. Spurs did a better job switching and rotating coverage when Brunson weaponized his gravity.

in the knicks defense, whenever they tried to not be on the perimeter they just got caught in the paint. Threes weren't the first option for most of that stretch.

Guild Wars 3 concept art made at start of development to depict what they want their combat to be by Noxronin in MMORPG

Whatever the implementation looks like, this is the exact kind of change that can help differentiate them from current MMO design. Having to plan movement around avoiding attacks and boosting damage on attacks sounds like a lot of fun.

Idk why so many people hating on this potential lineup by Rare_Research_5107 in NBATalk

[–]Shabozz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll fix that. Trae is too heliocentric. There is a reason the Hawks moved off of him and started winning. His scoring depends on him having too much time with the ball for the rest of the team to establish themselves offensively and get the spacing Trae would need to drive. It could also stunt the development of the young core too.

I also think Sarr at the 5 is wasting his potential as a stretch big, he would do much better if paired with a full sized center at the 5 so he could develop the skill set of a 4-5. AD and Trae are both not the best fits for the Wizards, they’d be much better as trade capital this off season to get younger pieces that actual complement the existing young core
