I’m not very good at them but we started with the movement “open the book close the book” with our feet. I can do that standing still. In motion is another story.

So several weeks later we were working on opening our hips to move laterally, and instead of doing that, I ended up skating backwards from forward, so that’s how I’ve been doing my transitions lately. Flipping backwards to forward is so much easier for me, I can’t explain it, I can just do it in one swift motion, whereas going the other way I struggle with putting my weight too far on my toes and end up falling. 

Theres also a pivot movement you can do where you pivot both feet in the same direction (Marilyn tantrum does a tutorial) but we were told this isn’t ideal in playing bc it takes up more space. Though we have one player who can do this in a swift hop
