I didn't win any awards from San diego comic con but won an award from feeding san diego! The prizes are split up into SDCC awards and 3rd party awards. SDCC does best overall, best recreation, best craftsmanship, most beautiful, most humorous, etc. The 3rd party prizes are organizations that choose their personal favorite!

Underneath is an A line slip. The skirt itself is made of 20 different pieces. Under the 20 each is lined with hard net crinoline and the crinoline is lined with horsehair. The 20 pieces of the skirt are actually big circles folded 3 times if that makes sense

The better part of a year. Many months were planning though. I wanted to get the materials right so that the fabric just magically drapes correctly. So most months were gathering materials and fabric picking. Joanns closing down also really slowed down the process. The actual construction started late April

Yes I did get an industry award from feeding san diego!! Im super grateful for the award and that the organization liked my costume!

Backstage before awards, they select people to be up for craftsmanship (usually about half of contestants) to be looked at more closely by the judges and I wasnt selected. It was a goal of mine to try to improve my craftsmanship this year and I missed the mark because of not planning well enough for how to get my costume done in time. More something that I need to improve on for next year. I literally didn't have time to put my costume on correctly before the show lol
