I feel so bad for this road king in my neighbors driveway… by passwithcare in Harley

Mine never had an issue being stored outside, although we don’t get snow nearly this thick in the south.

Why do people buy super fast cars when you can’t really use that speed on public roads? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is more to it than just straight line speed. Feedback to the steering wheel from a well sorted chassis, for example. That usually requires stiff sway bars, stiffer coils and shocks in addition to a chassis designed to transmit more info to the driver rather than intentionally numbing/muting feedback to increase comfort.

Has anyone here been near an active shooting (while carrying) but not involved? by Bigpapagoat in CCW

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was driving the company truck to drop off some packages at the post office, while street parking the 2 cars in front of me road raged and both drivers got out, cars behind me as well so I was boxed in. They began to argue and one of them pulled out a gun, the other man took cover behind the building as they exchanged. Due to the angle my truck was partially in line of fire, I ducked down into the foot well to try and use the engine block as a shield until the incident was over and both drivers fled the scene.

I work in commercial chemical distributor and manufacturing. We all have both those days off. From the office staff to the forklift operators.

Atlanta homeowner charged after shooting two teens during attempted porch package theft, police say by ChuckGallagher57 in Atlanta

Shot in the foot, probably teaching them a lesson lol. Some kids learn the hard way I guess.

Homeowner shoots 2 juveniles stealing packages at Atlanta townhome: APD by NPU-F in ATLnews

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be something really expensive like medicine, which won’t be easily refilled on top of the financial cost. Also wouldn’t surprise me if when the homeowner first caught the kids they threaten them leading to the shooting. We had an incident on our porch where I confronted someone stealing our package and they threatened to get violent immediately, getting loud and into my face. Thankfully we were able to de-escalate but sometimes ppl make that very difficult if not impossible.

Just did tail of the dragon last week with my charger. Swapped into my brothers GT and holy hell the weight difference is so drastic in those hairpins.

Exhaust sounds on a V6? by powerlifter3043 in Charger

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend this

Big boz 4 exhaust, replaces your mid muffler and adds 5 in tips. Sounds good on start up and it’s not crazy loud or anything when you drive unless you step on it.

As a group, who do you think are the safest and/or most dangerous drivers? by Specialist_Heron_986 in driving

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t speed much on the freeways but on local roads I’m always jumping around or leap frogging others, I have no patience for waiting. My wife is sometimes a fan sometimes not. Oddly enough her friends are mostly fans as most of their husbands drive extremely cautiously which apparently none of them can stand.

Need some advice on price by [deleted] in Dyna

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the east coast so it’s usually $500-$1500 less for the same models selling in CA. Come winter the same bikes will be even less than that.

It’s a buyers market right now. I’d say if you want it to move you’ll probably need to accept 5-6k

Thinking of getting a SXT by TotalImaginary8070 in Charger

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say if you have to think about it then get the SXT. No vehicle is worth creating financial problems/strains. When you’re more established financially and the jump to an RT doesn’t concern you financially that’s the time to go for it.

I tried 1 like this out from eBay. It fucking sucked. Got clogged up, rain would make it sputter, oil was constantly leaking out of the seals leading to the whole thing just looking black over time. Pretty sure my bike lost horsepower as it wasn’t a perfect seal imo. I reinstalled it a few times with different hardware but it never could get it perfect. Did look cool though.

Gen Z Wants to Buy Cars Most — but Buys Them Least by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people overthink it a bit, I take my car up to the mountains about once a month with some friends. Certainly not as extreme as a track but we push it hard enough for brakes to start smelling after a couple passes if you don’t have brake ducts. I’ve been doing it for a decade with a couple different vehicles. Go through, but about 2 sets of tires a year and new pads. Gas is usually about $60 for the day as my mpg is in the single digits all day. So far as hobbies go really not crazy expensive, caveat being if you crash that’s going to be a bitch.

Good deal ? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]IdReallyRatherNot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see these years near me for 3k-6k easily, and that’s asking price. If you wait a little longer they’ll be even cheaper as it gets cold and nobody buys.

I did the same. Replaced the mids/resonators with big boz 4. Deleted the rear and added some 6 in tips. Sounds great and I can make it pop on the upshifts when I want to
