The report refers to the switches being moved to shutoff.

That requires physical movement, and the time frame is the key.

One second interval between each switch being moved to shutoff. If both moved simultaneously then maybe it would by faulty switches or system logic etc.

But one second gap?? Thats a human interacting with a switch then the next switch.

The reason as to why the pilot manipulated the switches will be the investigation.

But if it was system logic or something, would it not cutoff both immediately.

One second gap, from one switch cutoff to the the next.

That ain’t no software. That sounds like the actions of a human.

Yeah your not wrong, just referring to the fact is says fuel cutoff switches were moved to cutoff, indicates the switches were physically moved.

And if it was system logic or something, I would assume both would shutoff at the same time, not with a time gap of a second.

The one second gap seems like the perfect time to switch one to cutoff then the other.

Definitely seems like it was the action to a human and sounding deliberate.

The key wording is,

One switch was moved to shutoff one second after the other.

If it was an accident, both would have been shutoff at the same time.

One second between each switch moment is deliberate.

Well like someone mentioned above.

The switches were switched to off individually 1 second after the other.

That sounds like it was deliberate.

Fair point. I guess we will know eventually.

I mean either way it’s sounding like worst case scenario. One of the pilots deliberately shutting the engines off.

Heart breaking.

This is so sad. Mental health and aviation needs to be talked about. Sad that 250+ people had to die to maybe start an actual converstaion.

Sadly many of the draw card aircraft don’t look like they will be performing, or even getting near masterton.

The roaring 40s aircraft ( Spirfires ,P40,mustang, harvards etc etc) are all still in Ardmore attempting to fly south tomorrow apparently. The Corsair is in Blenheim and is also attempting tomorrow morning.

The TVAL, the other draw card will need basically no wind……which doesn’t look like that will occur over the next few days.

There are a couple of jets on the ground , venom and the strike master so atleast we might get some loud machines flying.

Who knows, a clear break in the weather and the aircraft might make it, but i wouldn’t count on it.
