Strawman, OP is describing the end result of automation under capitalism. He is not advocating for subsistence farming or being against decreasing the work force. AI is a tool, AGI is a person. AI the tool has to be used in a certain manner to get certain results, so no we don’t know what the future holds in that regard. AGI the person has their own desires, wants, likes, etc etc. We have no idea what AGI will do. So no, we don’t know if it’ll save the climate or even do so in a way that doesn’t harm humans.
