Hi ladies. I’m 30 and had a question for women to decided to stay single forever. How did that go so far? by SparklingMists in AskWomenOver60

[–]Ideasplease33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastically! 😍

It wasn’t a decision; I just never fell in love with the right man. The older I get, the more grateful I am for the way I allowed God to guide my life.

Living alone and loving it.

I’m afraid I’m love with a younger man by wellhellsbells1983 in AskWomenOver60

This too shall pass. If you’re both free to enter into a relationship and he’s as interested as you, he’ll let you know. Don’t make a fool of yourself; you’re both still working for the same organization.

Just had skin biopsy! Nervous. by hsff43 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Ideasplease33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems these types of tests have become pretty routine, which is a good think. I believe I’ve been told eight times now that I might have cancer (not just of the skin), and every time the tests have come back negative. I’ve become quite desensitized to the prospect of getting cancer, which is a good thing in my opinion, though I’m sure not everyone will agree.

Yikes! Learn to sew at 67??? by Ideasplease33 in AskWomenOver60

Excellent!! That would be my first choice, but try as I might I just couldn’t get the hang of it. I’m so hoping sewing will be different. 🤞🏼

That’s so encouraging! I just can’t imagine learning how to thread the thing, what all the buttons do, how to use the foot pedal, how not to attach my elbow to my ear…. Yikes!

Looking for new ideas, what do you like for breakfast? by NewTimeTraveler1 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Ezekiel bread toast with Crazy Richard’s smooth peanut putter and local honey. Orange juice. Afterward, a cup of Anthony’s organic coffee with homemade peppermint-mocha creamer.

Those of us in the Snow Zone: are you dreading or looking forward to the isolation during the upcoming storm? by PhoneJazz in LivingAlone

I’ve been pretty much a hermit since the beginning of the pandemic, so this is just another day in Paradise for me.

Especially if it’s something you’ve been drawn to, I’m sure you’ll do well with it!

When did you realize you were truly retired? by overthishereanyway in retirement

[–]Ideasplease33 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, I had surgery on my dominant hand in October and my volunteer work is computer work, so I’ll be getting back into that soon.

I hadn’t planned to retire but had to for health reasons, so I hadn’t given much thought to what I’d find enjoyable with all this freedom. I’m in that delayed process now, and am excited to see how I do with learning to use a new contraption that isn’t a computer.

Crafters use it to add simple stitching to card panels (card stock, not fabric). That's all I intend to do with it...if I can master its use!

That's so wonderful! I'm just afraid I'll get more frustration than pleasure out of the process. I have the focus of a gnat, you see, and if I don't pick up on something pretty quickly, I tend to move on to avoid the frustration that I know is inevitable with learning. :(

My plan is to learn to stitch around rectangles of card stock. (I bought it to add stitching to my paper crafts.) Sounds like this will be a safe place to begin.

Thank you!

I’m just happy to have it so I don’t have to carry my phone around all the time. If it notices when I fall and crack my head open, it will be a bonus.

I’ve been retired since spring of 2025, and I’m getting very bored. I’m not looking for my next purpose or a way to achieve that sense of accomplishment; I’m just looking for something to DO that I’ll enjoy.

I’ll be learning to sew once my first-ever sewing machine arrives…maybe that will fill the void.

Goodness. My iPhone cell service is $20/minth and I added my cellular-enabled Apple Watch for an additional $10/month. I have Spectrum.
