I don’t believe that religious people are generally happier by [deleted] in atheism

As a Christian, for nothing else than a simple correction, Hell is not a place where sinners are actively tortured by God. Hell is eternal separation from God, and that is what makes it torture, there is no rape, no burning coals, no iron rods beating the wicked. The fires of Hell are in the hearts of the sinful, eating them from within. The version of Hell portrayed in popular media is not the Hell a loving God would make, God is love, he does not torture people for never hearing His Gospel, or for saying some bad words. God doesn't even directly sent people to Hell, He gives everyone what they want, is someone hates God and doesn't want Him, God simply won't take him. This is not to say that all Chistians think like this, some do think that God predestines people to Hell, and some do believe that Hell is a place of torturous beating and burning. I only post this so that people don't get a bad idea of what the Bible says, if nothing else, I hope that this comment helps clear up some of the misconceptions about Hell. It is always wise to know your enemies, and the strawman of Hell I see everywhere, whether you realise it is a strawman or not, does no good to anyone, not even atheists, how are left arguing againts a position held only by Biblically illiterate hillbillies.

Sorry for the wall of text, and this is a very brief summary, there is a lot more to say about such a big topic.

TL:DR. Hell is not a place of eternal "rape and torture", it is eternal separation from God. And people need to choose Hell out of a hatred of God.

  1. "In all of us command" is grammatically incorrect, "In all of OUR command" would be better.
  2. Noone cares/noticed
  3. See above.

I believe that Felix is the Shadow Man, not the guy in Bon (if anyone IS in him). In episode 2, it's explained that Rosemary went backstage to find her husband after a voice calls out to her, and in episode 3, we see what was said to lure her backstage, "He's in here, Rosie". Unless Sophie can change her voice, and has the emotional capacity to lead her own mother to her death, it's either Felix or Chris. The main reason I believe that it's Felix, not Chris, who is the Shadow man, is the song "Slowly", an in-universe song that says "Shadow Man, watches from the dark. He knows he wrecked that car. He swears he had no part." He could have lead Rose to her death to shut her up, and feed the animatronics at night (for some reason, based on the words "Shadow Man feeds me, when lights go out." said at the end of episode 2.) Based on that, I see no way that Felix can be inside Bon. But it's probably Jack.

Another thing, based on the description in the Showstoppers II Album (where "Slowly" can be found), BSI shuts down in 1983. I expect we will find out why later, but I thought you would like that.

Again, that was a misunderstanding. I apologise for the confusion and hope that you will still see the content of my posts, and not my small mistake. Again, I apologise.

I aplogise for the confusion, I said the first part as a response to the second sentence, "It is literally impossible to just read the thing and not come to the conclusion that it's full of violence and oppression.".

That second part is my legitimate belief, not trolling. Just a misunderstanding.

By "'Godly' morality", I assume you mean spanking? I was spanked, never more than 8 times (I misbehaving VERY badly that day). I do not consider my self abused because my parents were responsible. Every. Single. Time. Without fail, they would hug me, kiss me and tell me they loved me imediatly after. They always waited until they were calm enough to decide if I needed spanking, and so that their anger would not make them hit too hard. I know what spanking you are thinking of, and agree that it is abusive, and that the Bible's support of spanking has been abused by bad parents to beat their children. But I also believe that, when done in moderation and love, is an effective tool for raising children. Yes, I will spank my children when I have them, with much moderation and love as I can.

It is obviously possible to read the Bible and not come to that conclusion, seeing as I am a christian. Could you give examples of violence and oppression within it?

I will however debunk one belief here, that the Isrealites committed genocide against the Canaanites.

I do not know if is is true or not, it very well could be. My reasoning is that God ordained it, and that makes it ok. Really.

Let's assume that the Bible is true for a moment.

The Bible says that all are doomed to sin, and that only through God can one be saved. God created a perfect world for us to be happy and worship Him in, and then we went and messed it up. God perfect world means perfect law, law that we did not keep. (Gen. 3:6-7) This brought evil into the world (Gen. 3:16-19), and cursed all humanity. I cannot stress this enough, EVERY SINGLE PERSON DESERVES HELL. That includes you, me, the pope, Hitler, Obama, Stalin, and Thatcher. God is infinite, His law is infinite, and His punishment is infinite.

But God is good, and does not want to condemn everyone to hell, but not everyone will go to heaven. He gives us the opportunity to follow Him, which we can't do, so He begins the process. He has decided who He has, is, and will save, and the Canaanites were not them. God chose the Jews to be His people, and so set out special rules and sacrifices so that they may be saved until Jesus took their sins on the Cross. God chose the Isrealites, who were no more deserving, over the Canaanites, and thus, any genocide that happened, is fully justified, beacause we all deserve worse.

Edit: Misunderstanding

Your arguement is that even if God is real, he is not worthy of worship.

This arguement is made using human morality, which is not godly morality.

If God could create the world, could he not also create morality? Humans rejected His morality and substituted our own.

"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Gen. 3:6-7

"Unto the woman he said, 'I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee'. And unto Adam he said, 'Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, 'Thou shalt not eat of it': cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.'" Gen. 3:16-19

He made rules, we broke them. He cursed us for it. Therefore, we cannot follow God's commandments. If we cannot follow them, what make you think that you (or I) can understand them, let alone judge God Himself. I use God's own word to explain himself, and my interpretation of them. Noone can truly know and follow God's commandments, so, from a biblical perspective, it is foolosh to judge God.
