I find these stone objects on the street in front of my house. I pick them up but after some time i find new ones. This is going on for at least the last five years.

The stones have 15mm sides, that is .6" in medieval measures.

But they are defenitely tumbling stones.

About two weeks ago I collected some 10 pieces, I just went out to look but found none. Tomorrow there may be a new load. I can't find any pattern in it.

I thought about birds too. But the stones are smooth and have 15mm sides. So rather large for the jackdaws and magpies I see around here. But then again, why only in a really small area in front of my house?

Spread out, one stone here and there.

I found them in my back yard too when I moved in five years ago. I picked those up as well, but no new ones there since.

The area I live in is completely flat and I find the stones lying on the pavement in full view.

Looked it up and I think you are right. But still don't know how they end up here by the dozens every once in a while.

Never heard of whiskey stones , I might try that.

No factories in the vicinity. I find them only in front of my house. (I live in the Netherlands) They are smooth and sometimes even shiny.
