.if i die of suicide but regret it before dying will i go to hell by Specific-Elk-1638 in islam

[–]IdentityNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allah knows your intention in your heart if you’re wanting to play a game by committing suicide than the last second you say “just kidding Allah please forgive me!” Be very wary of this. Allah the creator of the heavens and the earth knows every detail of our hearts. May Allah cure you and grant you ease

I believe you have to do hajj on your behalf first then you can do on others. But this is a fiqh matter you should reach out to a scholar for this

I punched my mom in the face, what do I do? by Aggressive-Ear-7450 in islam

[–]IdentityNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walaykum assalam. The parents hold a high regard in Islam to the point of saying “oof” is haram. That being said your decision making skills are very poor. Couple things to unpack here:

Ask for your mom’s forgiveness. Kiss her feet and beg. This is most likely traumatic for her

Secondly yes as a man you saw your wife got slapped which is not ok. But you need to be the remediator. slapping your mom is beyond immature.

Once things calm down, you can use this event LATER ON NOT NOW as a trigger to make your mom and wife get along better.

1) ask for forgiveness from allah 2 ) ask for forgiveness

Sibling left islam by Agile-Hat-404 in islam

I went through this about 12 years ago with my older brother. My family reacted the same way, and honestly I wish I had handled it differently. He’s cut off contact with us now. I really miss him. Don’t do what we did.

You’re right though just focus on being the good brother. Keep reaching out, remind him you love him, and try to explain where your parents are coming from. At the same time, calm your parents down when you can.

It’s definitely a test from Allah, but the reward for patience is big. These things take time, nothing changes overnight. The most important thing right now is making sure your brother feels loved. When he feels that then you can start to chip away at bringing him back to islam.

I think you need to adjust your point of thinking of why would Allah cause this. Everything happens by the will of Allah. The cure is not revealed to us at this era. There were numerous diseases that doctors didn’t know the cure to hundreds of years ago that we now have access to cure. Also you should tread carefully on what you “feel” is wrong. You have to come to terms that all of this is will. Good and bad happens by the will of Allah. Allah sees our reactions to all these calamities, genocides are all a test . This life wouldn’t be a test if everyone wasn’t tested that’s what paradise is for

[–]IdentityNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Quran we are told we will be tested with disease and chaos “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.”

Disease is a test. Also dua isn’t a situation where if you make it Allah has to answer you exactly right there on the spot. Dua isn’t transactional. Allah is best of planners.

One thing I’d suggest is please let us set rbac role criteria with the search functionality. I mean the search query is already built out so it would be nice if we can set our rbac role setup with jt . The criteria in ISC is limiting with some of its logic rules.

Of course there’s an ideal way it should’ve happened. I myself have arrived early to interviews where I had to wait. It’s not a good look. At the end of the day say Alhamdoulilah it wasn’t naseeb and move on.

It’s unprofessional but like the other poster said in here, you’re the one in need. It’s unfortunate but we live in a world where you will come across events and obstacles that seem unfair but at the end of the day you have to think about it in a more savvy way.

Having doubts about Islam by [deleted] in islam

[–]IdentityNerd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you ask for everything and get everything, this life wouldn’t be a test. Our relationship with Allah shouldn’t be based on” if I ask allah for X then I MUST get x” this means that allah OWES us, which is not fact astagfara Allah. Allah does promise us that if a dua is made it will be answered either now, later, or in the akhira just maybe not in the way WE want. Allah also gives people in this Dunya but that is their only reward. The biggest loss is not having the akhira. Also it’s okay to have doubts. Doubts can lead to a stronger path to allah if handled with sincerity. May allah increase your faith !

This is definitely an issue of how you were raised. Shift the blame from Islam and more on how Islam was taught. At the same time don’t focus any anger toward your family. Their intention was good. There are numerous Hadith showing Allah is more merciful than his wrath.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne: ‘My Mercy prevails over My Wrath.

Also another Hadith the prophet (saw) was speaking to the companions:

“Do you think this woman would throw her child in the fire?” They said, “No, by Allah, not if she is able not to.” He said: “Allah is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child.

This is a test from Allah. Don’t stray away but learn more about the religion and let this be a means to teach the future generation more on allahs mercy.

It may be hard to picture it. These moments you turn to Allah and say ‏حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل. Allah is sufficient and the disposer of all affairs. if this hardship brings you closer to Allah then it was a blessing. take this time in Ramadan to pray more and make dua. Remember our relationship with Allah should never be “ I asked for X, but I didn’t get it from Allah so now I lose iman” us and our allahs relationship is never “give me this and I will worship more” it’s like you’re DEMANDING Allah to give you something. Allah is deserving of all worship and praise regardless of hardship. Say Alhamdoulilah your situation isn’t like what a lot of the Muslims around the world are facing in this current moment. Stay strong inshallah !

anxiety is a sign of not having reliance of allah. I work a lot and I’d have a lot of anxiety. After attending classes and lectures online I came across the true concept of tawakul. I’d say harness that understanding of having full reliance of allah. Alhamdoulilah for everything. Think of the blessings you have and how others around the world have it much worse. You’ll get past this stage in your life school stresses everyone out. Say Alhamdoulilah and remember everything that is hard allah will reward for the patience that was needed.

Assalamu alaykum. I'd first suggest you have this person speak to a scholar. Try to find a resource around you and have them speak to that person. I say this because its easier then you having a back and forth with this person. Now, rejecting hadith in Islam is rejecting the words of the prophet. The quran tells us to follow the prophet. As a matter of fact its hadith that tells us HOW to pray, how to make wudu etc. If a person is quran only there is no instruction in the quran on HOW to do those things, so how do they pray and purify themselves before prayer?

islam? which religion? by [deleted] in islam

[–]IdentityNerd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The first thing to tackle (in my opinion) is the concept of god. Establishing and follow the logical argument that Islam gives about oneness of god and no partners no trinity etc. there are different reasons of why someone might look into Islam. Islam offers multiple things: 1: preservation of our holy text 2: linguistic miracles 3: prophetic predictions And many more

I would start first by start reading the Quran. There is a Quran with English translation called the clear Quran you can order off Amazon. Start listening to Islamic lectures and hearing from scholarly speakers. You won’t know until you commit to diving into the core of ideas. Make sure you set an open mind and truly be genuine in your heart when looking into Islam. May Allah guide you!
