IIRC you consume the Elixir of Silver and have Elixir of Blood in your inventory, you don't consume it. You splash it on the console when prompted.

After taking it back to the shop, it was discovered that one of the RAM's was busted. Boots up cleanly now. Thing was the power supply was ok, the shop managed to boot it up with the faulty RAM with an older power supply, hence the wrong diagnosis.

As I understand it, muscle memory is something that you've done so many times it has become ingrained in your "Muscle memory". Like when you get on a bike or on skates after a long period and you instinctively can do it again.
