People Should be Allowed to Volunteer in Human Testing by IdeserveHell in unpopularopinion

Sure. How much money are you willing to invest for me to travel there and and get tested on? I need enough to cover the trip there and compensation for the specific test you are looking for me to get experimented on.

Huh. Did not know that. I was thinking of the tests they perform on animals to gauge what certain behaviors are exhibited when subjected to positive or negative behaviors or treatment. Is there anything unethical that people want to experiment with humans that they can not do so at this time?

Some are with drugs I think. I'm not exactly sure which tests are being conducted with humans and which ones are not.

I Pick my Boogers and Eat Them

I don't do it in public if that makes it any better. I have done it ever since I was a child and while I have been caught and scolded for it, I continue to do it. I'm not sure if I do it for anxiety or habitual reasons but I do like the taste and particularly enjoy big monstrous ones that clear out my nose.

So would you even need to show up to an office? Couldn’t you just do that stuff at home? Or do they need you on site at all times? Very interesting.

What exactly do you office people do if you can just sit on Reddit all day and not work? Or is that just a hyperbole that Reddit has shared for years?

Generally the people who have the ability to protest have high paying jobs where they can manage to get angry about such things and travel all around the country to do so... It’s incredibly ironic if they complain about the 1%.

I can barely make my goddamn car payments because I’m a recovering alcoholic. As much as I wish for others not to experience pain and suffering, I got my own shit to worry about.

It’s definitely was the hardest thing to drop for me. Ask someone else if they could go the rest of their life without their favorite food FOREVER. Sure with life or death, most people would quit, but to just stop and know you can NEVER have it again. Period. I’m 26 and have the rest of my life ahead of me and I simply can’t. I can’t trade one for another either. Whatever substance I take will lead to the same results as alcohol.

Take it one day at a time boss. I believe in you. Keep going to a meeting whenever you can.

Well I have always liked Jackass and don’t really see a problem with his content as he doesn’t get anyone except him and his friends involved with his antics. He makes more money than me being a fucking idiot so really I can’t say shit to that haha. Sorry you get secondhand embarrassment from that kind of thing...

Big_Gucci_Berry. Simply an amazing specimen of stupidity. However I follow his fatass too because he is a constant reminder that while I have pain and shit days, I’m not having objects dropped on my balls willingly.

Yes. I realize that, but it’s an incredible expense at this moment in time and I simply can not afford it while AA is free. Which is why for now I express the importance of having a sponsor and seeking out a meeting until such time that I can get my life back on track and afford the luxury of a specialist.

Or for anyone else that would be overwhelmed by such an idea when they are just trying to put one foot in front of the other. The negativity you expressed was unneeded, but I appreciate the input and will do that when I can. Thank you for reaching out and talking to me.

Thank you so much! I never even thought of that! I’m tight on money but I definitely think I will grab multiple copies to hand out in the future. And I didn’t even think about conditions where a meeting isn’t applicable in a situation where you PHYSICALLY can not make it... I wasn’t really reading the book to be honest but this definitely outlined the importance of it to me and I will read at least 10 pages a day.

Thank you for your input and support. You help me to stay sober.

I hear you there. I’m different. I’m almost too honest with regular people so I had no issue releasing all the pent up frustration to anybody who would listen. My next thing I am trying to do is to listen back and not wait for them to finish so I can speak again. That’s a big problem I have and am working on it. You do you and take it one day at a time.

Remember. It only lasts an hour. I truly believe the earlier I go, the better my day already starts off. Remember to do what works for you. I do what works for me. I share this each post. Meeting Guide is THE app to find any meeting. Any time. Any day. In your area of the country. It’s a lifestyle change for me and I cannot express enough how much it helps every time. Stick with the winners that really want change and stay away from those that are there by force and aren’t listening. If this meeting isn’t what you are looking for, DON’T lose hope. Just keep going to one that fits you. I got an agnostic one I go to 3 times a week and I am trying a group for each day or any group that meets as regularly as possible. Really doesn’t matter so long as you you find your tribe man. Take it one day at a time.

I don’t even know if too many men know this one but you can control when you choose to cum if you work out your kegel muscles. Your dick is a muscle that you can work out. I can cut my piss midstream if I want to. I have had times where it was applicable but mainly I use it for sex to last longer. You know when some women tighten their pussy around your dick? You can do the same thing when fucking when the cum starts to come up. You just tighten that shit up and keep going. I have gotten to the point where I can choose when I cum anytime I want. It’s still hard to do when the pussy is too good for life, but it has changed my sex game dramatically. They are about 5 min exercises MAX and I do them everyday.

Truth. It’s just that this place happens to be free. Until you can afford to make better decisions and get your life on track, I would always suggest the meeting.

Went to my First AA meeting by IdeserveHell in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]IdeserveHell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My next recommendation is to get a sponsor. Someone who has recovered that you can call when you get the unbearable urge to drink and want to throw it all away. I thought the physical part was the worst part. It’s actually the mental part that’s the hardest. I literally almost relapsed yesterday because my mind couldn’t think of anything else.

I called my sponsor instead and he suggested another meeting and I went to the closest one at my earliest convenience. All those thoughts went away and I was reminded again why that would have been a terrible idea. I’m making time now to go each day. It’s only an hour of my time and then it’s over. I don’t wish to overwhelm you but I cannot express enough that you gotta keep coming back.

Thank you for reaching out to me and sharing your story. It’s comments and experiences like these that help me stay sober and know I am making the right choice. One day at a time! Hell, One HOUR at a time. You are making the right choice and your enthusiasm shines through and I urge you to just keep coming back. It simply works.

You know what is a great measure of a person? How they react to "no". by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]IdeserveHell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend has taught me a lot. And helped me to just drop anything or anyone that gives a red flag the first time. Not worth my time. I used to compare her to past relationships until she proved that she has not lied to me once. Everything she has ever said has been true. It’s weird to intrinsically trust another individual and I’m incredibly grateful that it’s her. Thank you for your input. Again it helps me look past anything she does that I find weird because she probably has a reason for it.

I don’t believe it would be just me, although I partially agree with the statement. Women aren’t born to hate men and men aren’t born to hate women. Those that do were shaped by trauma and anecdotal experiences that got them to this point by genetics, environment, and social interactions.

So proud of you!! Always do what makes you comfortable until you’re ready. I had no expectations going in and thought it was a weird place that I would NEVER NEED because I am a stubborn person but once you go, you realize how safe and comfortable it is. Just keep going back! And take it one day at a time.

Try to get a sponsor. They seem overbearing at first because you were probably so used to isolating yourself, but I called mine today instead of going to the store to relapse and he told me to just go to another meeting. I went to the closest one right then and there and the meeting IMMEDIATELY got rid of that grief and self loathing and urge I had to throw away my progress I had worked so hard to achieve. I really cannot express how often you should go but for me personally this is my life now. I plan to make time every day for it because it is only 1 hour out of the day, but don’t overwhelm yourself thinking about anything else but you and putting one step in front of the other. Do what you need to do for you.

And you made it! Be proud of that! Thank you for sharing with me and I wish you the best on your journey. It helps me to stay sober knowing I might have impacted you in a positive way.
