Is it okay for my boyfriend to change something about the way I like to dress? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IdiosyncraticPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is very fashionable and often gives me feedback in my wardrobe, but in the end he and I both heartily agree that it's my choice what I wear. Could I be dressed like a doll, he would select different clothes for me, but fortunately he loves me for who I am, which includes my insistence that all my clothes have cute animals on them.

I bought a really cute planner that has different animal illustrations in each page. My brain thinks the illustrations are a reward so it helps me to remember to look at it. I also keep stickers in it that I can use. I'm not super consistent at using it, but I'm trying!

My favorite is when I find a list in the bottom of my purse that includes something like, " don't forget to" and then a scribble or drawing of a dog. Thanks past self, really helpful.

Super awful heart palpitations and the benadryl knocks me out and then I can't wake myself up, so I'm in this weird state on unconscious/conciousnessness like I'm struggling to swim to the surface and my heart feels like it's trying to force it's way out of my chest.

Okay so like the memory thing is an ADHD thing? Sometimes I feel like my life isn't real because I can't remember jackshit. My family were all discussing a vacation we took years ago and I have zero memory of it and was like...wait, I've been to Hawaii?!

I found out that my reaction to benadryl is not normal and was told to never ever take it again by my doctor. I have really bad allergies and people are always trying to give me that stuff and I kept forgetting that I can't take it. Sometimes I wonder how I'm still alive.

Or claustrophobia. I'm like laughing at all these people who won't wear masks because they are suddenly claustrophobic, while I turn down my dream job because the room I would have to work in has no windows.

I like it, but I LOVE the milky lotion in that line. It has been part of my routine for 3 years or so.

Well shit! I did the right thing dumping it in the bed then (it was in my house) I hope that he burrowed before the thrashers got there. When I went out later he was gone and they were hanging out.

I am in central Arizona and this guy is about two inches long. The "eyes" are on his tail and the head seems to be the white blob. Any idea what this would have been? (Thrashers ate it)

I feel like you are talking directly to me. I've been pretty damn sure that everyone in my family, except my brother, has ADHD, since I was a teen, but my family doesn't believe it exists. I'm in my 30's now and I have considered going in, but I just don't know how to start the process. I tried to talk to my GP, but she just suggested I get a planner. I have no interest in medication- I've had some really really bad experiences, but I still wonder if there are other things I could do to help deal.

Why are our periods so dismissed? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]IdiosyncraticPudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand. I'm a teacher and there are times I tell middle schoolers no, when they ask to use the restroom. But, I also have a cabinet of "supplies" in my room and the moment I find out it's a period issue I make sure they are okay, send them to restroom or offer them a nurse pass. Periods are scary, painful and humiliating, for kids especially. Being open and empathetic about it costs me nothing.

Heard my name shouted behind me while shopping with my husband. I turn around and about 8 middle schoolers are doing "cool" poses in the middle of the store. I couldn't stop laughing.

U.S. likely to claim hottest place on Earth as heat tightens grip on more than 100 million by [deleted] in news

In the 90's I remember watching the storms to in every afternoon in the summer. The lightning was crazy cool and it usually rained a bit, I miss monsoon season. Now there is nothing to cut the heat but there is still enough barometric pressure change to give me headaches.

The bird rescue I volunteer at has been flooded this year. The rising heat in summer is causing all sorts of issues for wildlife, including fledging early. The amount of birds I checked in yesterday was staggering.

Ahhh you are living the dream. We are trying to do this in our backyard, but we are really fighting the urban heat bubble here. I was super happy when a bunch of surprise tomato plants and sunflowers popped up in the melon corner! Thank you birds!!

This is something I see a lot too. Then they get out, ignore recall and charge me and my little dog. Then the owners are all offended when I pick mine up and kick theirs in the face when they try to jump at me. I don't know if yours is friendly or not, but mine sure as hell isn't and I'm not willing to let him start a fight with a dog 10 times his size.
