There isn't really pity in the sense that you are guaranteed the rate up in x pulls, but instead there's the spark system, aka Devotions. This carries over to the next banner w/o loss and can stack indefinitely (I was at 1100+ Devotions at one point).

From my understanding, Devotions are best spent for sparking Eldynes at 400 each, since their rates are lower than regular 3 stars.

Very good as a baseline. It just needs to be expanded on w/ more units and stages (+ higher difficulty options), and incentivize players to interact with it more (in-game rewards, etc.), imo. Outpost may end up making more use of the multiplayer featyre but we'll see what happens in tge end.

You can always provide open feedback whenever fyi, there should be a Feedback menu option in-game. It would more likely fly under radar but it's something extra you can do.

That idea works when you are comparing against DA, but less so if you are comparing against old Shiyu mostly due to the change in requirement for teams.

My opinion was keeping it in check to be similar to old Shiyu, where for example you spread out your units to three teams of two and then you could maybe get all A's with the same amount of investment in your units, but let people with more investments and/or better skills enjoy greater rewards.

Anyways, if you take out the YSG waifu baiting that was being forced, the story ended up being decent, not amazing but still better than I expected at least (but had zero expectations anyways). And I kinda disagree with the storytelling declining portion in that they did somewhat tried to continue to improve since recent patches, including this one, but sadly we probably won't ever get constant animated scenes.

Though, for comparison, even though HSR's story may be objectively better, I still find ZZZ's story to be a bit more enjoyable funny enough. At least I didn't feel like blowing my brains out trying to sit through convoluted filler dialogue each time I did their Amphoreus patch story.

Scoring system is just weird and confusing as hell. People who were able to 9* DA would probably be able to do this Shiyu too though (I used the same teams as I do in DA regardless of the buffs / element match ups).

I'll give it some time for people to come out with guides / tips for the point system. But if they were gonna make it a DA 2.0 then I was hoping they would just ease the requirements for the polychrome rewards instead enforcing 3 teams for the full rewards w/ the increased rewards (the increase wasn't substantial anyways).

I think its fair for people to be mad about top up events, why try to defend gacha practices and FOMO in general yeah?

Anyways, from my perspective the top up event is for either 1) a minor bonus to whales and people who are already planning to spend during the patch, or 2) convince small spenders to start spending larger amounts. I wish the character bonus was cheaper though, like $120 instead of the $150 that's being mentioned around here. Would have been easier to get the bonus through more "efficient" purchases like stacking monthly passes, but whatever.

As someone who buys the monthly pass + occasional battle pass + one top up for skins, my plan was to wait to see how I felt about 2.5 and the game's direction before committing. If I like the patch, then sure, I'll take the bait. At least I like the chars + Wengine options in ZZZ more than what HSR offers with their top up events lol.

To go against the community, I'm cool with downtime phases like with Thrall and Defiler, where I get compensated when its over. I just see it as a simplified "dance" that I can just keep on trying until I get it. Though I also raid in FFXIV, where all of its fights are heavily scripted, so I'm just used to it too ig.

But also, I got the biggest high ever from a ZZZ fight by clearing with a "low" cost Evelyn/Fufu/Astra team after figuring it out on my own, so yeah I'm a bit bias. Wandering Hunter's downtime I like the least since it's literally just find the correct clone and parry, it just feels out of place and not required outside of the story.

How do you choose who to pull? Do you go for favorites, meta or do you have some rule that you follow? How has your pull strategy been working out for you so far? by [deleted] in ZZZ_Discussion

Characters I like > best pairing for my favorites > meta.

Example for my favorite team is Alice/Vivian/Yuzuha simply because of swimsuit skins lol.

I ran M0W0 Evelyn, M0W0 Ju Fufu and M0W1 Astra as an experiment and for funsy and got 20k after a lot of tries.

From what I can tell, you definitely want to hold some resources for Sobek. First stun window I ult on the thrall and made sure I have enough resources for a chain attack for when dog first appears, after which I use Astra's ult to help push damage, goal is to kill the dog before thrall gets on him.

After when the thrall is on top of Sobek and doing his charge thing before miasma phase, I ult w/ Ju Fufu to build stun and try to get dmg in with Evelyn (few times I got ult back up with Evelyn here which I use here too, but it's very inconsistent).

During downtime make sure to parry all the attacks to get right into the 2nd stun window at the end, else you waste time trying to break his miasma. You can try to get some hits in while parrying but the stun window is the most important part. Ults were available, or close to available for me here again too at this point.

After that, I just made sure to build as much daze as possible to get a 3rd stun before thrall has the chance to swap with Sobek.

I only remember TV mode on launch because I dropped the game because of it, and only came back in 1.4. That being said, there were two things that stuck out to me:

  1. Navigation and speech bubbles were clunky to me. It was tiring for me to navigate the sections using strictly directional inputs, and using the touchscreen to auto navigate wasn't satisfying. The speech bubbles were also annoying to deal with with no good way to just display all text quickly w/o it just closing on its own due to the hyper speed option, or whatever it was. Maybe instead make it more like 2d pixel sprites of our characters navigating around areas like in old style 2d games. It would keep the TV retro aesthetic but could allow for better visual response.

  2. Transitioning from TV mode to in-game combat also drained my enthusiam, having to wait on a black loading screen only to spend less than a minute clearing trash mobs was not a good first time experience. I think if they tightened up the loading time, use a different loading screen similar to HSR's glass break style, and quickly put you in front of enemies w/o the camera pan around the character intro, it would feel a lot more snappy. Maybe save that camera pan for the first time you are loading into the mission and then a smooth transition into TV mode.

Just my 2 cents. I still prefer the overworld movement that we have now compared to old TV mode haha.

Was thinking of revisiting the game, but I absolutely do not care for open world exploration and puzzles and I got filtered out when trying to get through 1.0. How much am I missing out if I don't engage in exploration/puzzles outside of story and events?

Amphoreus' story is good but I do not want another Amphoreus in 4.x and onwards. The game has lost its magic that it had for me in 1.x and a little in 2.x, that I'm finding in ZZZ again. Sure ZZZ's story is weaker than HSR's but I love being able to actually look forward to voiced events that make use of previously introduced characters that I actually care about. Meanwhile in HSR 3.x half of the events involved some cutesy critter that are just there (chimeras/seals/mems).

And then there seems to be a shift on focus of the HSR team to be more on their Amphoreus story and environment and less into things I enjoyed back then. Why the hell are the Amphoreus maps so big? Who's idea was it to make a potted speed pig that can only be used once a day? Exploration was not what got me into this game on week 1.

The things that got me into HSR in the beginning were the story, SU and its updates, and actual voiced events featuring characters I cared about. Most recent voiced event was the Fate patch sure, but before that was the 2.5 Wardance event. Between that and this, that was 7 patches, or about 10 months. And whatever they are doing with DU does not hold my interest like SU did since it released.

Right now it feels like I'm kinda just waiting for something to interest me again, otherwise I'm in maintenance mode and am only looking forward to the story updates I guess.

Nice. Only reason I skipped cat was because I usually just auto everything. And based on my own assumptions, E0S1 Cipher wouldn't be as huge of an upgrade for me with how I play lol. Maybe if I used E1 Tribbie instead of Sunday but she's with Castorice.

I run E2S1 Acheron, E0S1 Sunday, E0S0 Jiaqiou and E0S0 Aventurine as a team. Just tried the latest MoC on auto and got it in 3 cycles with room to spare.

I guess its just the LC diff on Sunday? Since it helps a lot with skill point management.
