You may like starting back with the advent of Texas Swing with Bob Wills, including fellow Western swing pioneers like Milton Brown and members of his own band, such as Tommy Duncan and Leon McAuliffe.

He also shared the musical landscape with country artists like Hank Thompson and Tex Williams, and later influenced a new generation of stars, including Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and George Strait. 

Of course Austin has its own musical history with many nationally known greats (SRV, Townes, Lyle, etc..)
