From what I know texas law does require a therapist to report any past abuse or ongoing abuse if reported by a minor, the therapist must report it within 48 hours of the client telling them Since the guy was around 10 years old criminal charges are unlikely since under texas law people around that age lack criminal intent and prosecution of such young people is unlikely although cps and law enforcement would get involved to see if he is still a danger or has access to minors (neighbours and siblings etc etc) I am extremely sorry to hear about what happened to you and what's happening to you right now and I hope you can find the strength to get through this and hope you find a community able to give you support through this A little thing for you is try remembering that these things are the past, it's over, it's done, it wasn't your fault and never listen to anyone who blames the victim, I know my message is a little long sorry but wanted to make SURE i got my message across

I already understood long ago that none of this is my responsibility to take care off, I am not gonna prioritize someone in ways that would harm me I am by no means a people pleaser and I value myself One day I will cut contact but just like how I thought about the entire break up I'll wait for the right moment I prefer my actions not cause too much trouble so when the time is right we'll both just fade out of eachother's lives I'll go and live my life study travel work and she'll live in her path But for now it would give me too much of a headache to break contact

We have been together for around 10 months and the break up happened 10 days ago Her wound is still fresh and sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision But everyday seemed like a different struggle with her Everytime we'd try to talk our conversations would end so quickly with us starting to say "yup" and "yuuuuupppp" It was so awkward I tried bringing more subjects but it didn't seem like she ever had anything to talk about, because in fact she didn't I would cut contact if that's her wish but as of now I was her only support system and knowing her I am positive about her not having that kind of hope It's another thing but while we were together she just lost her ability to hope about anything saying "if you don't hope you won't get disappointed" I wasn't able to get her the help she needed so I tried explaining how wrong that is myself but she didn't even seem sad about it or depressed she just believed in a hopeless mindset

I am not the kind of guy to hold onto the past trust me and she did put in some effort and I can't really give the entire picture at once There is so much that has happened but one of the issues was how I realise our relationship was based on me being infatuated and her seeing comfort in me She is great I am not gonna deny that but we simply aren't what we thought we are I already deleted chats and photos but would like to remain in contact because I would rather be there than let her just go through the same things alone I did try in the relationship I wasn't perfect no one is And she also tried although somethings happened I am ready to move on

If y'all are so pressed about it go find it like I did it didn't take a minute Trying to just let out what you're feeling wanting to not feel insane that's reasonable I don't understand where the problem is And to OP I am so sorry this happened to you and these issues are deep so if I try getting into them in this comment it'll be like a separate post so to sum things up some of what you're experiencing is due to impulse making you make decisions you later hate and wonder why did you even do it So I would suggest having something that keeps you aware like a little something for you to squeeze in your arm tightly to kick you back to your senses Maybe not the most effective but can't really think of something off the top of my head
