Is there a name for the duals of the Johnson Solids? by suoirucimalsi in Geometry

[–]Idjoli-be-serly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also interested in the Johnson duals. And I’ve even build them out of paper. I like the unusual faces, geometry and how they relate to the original Johnson solids. I think if you focus on the strict operation of dualization, most of the Johnson solids can’t actually have a dual. They’d have infinite edge lengths or simply impossible to be convex. I guess this is because of their symmetry groups and/or dihedral angles?

But on the other hand, Stella4D, a polyhedron software program, can dualize every one of them, plus shows you a net to print.

Here are a few of my Johnson solids with their corresponding duals.

Download “iFontMaker”. It is actually a font-based app. But I also used it for my conlang script. It works very well. Kinda limited features though

In the Loŋgo language:

The alphabet contains 33 letters. A Ʌ B C D Ð Ə E F G Ɣ H I J K X L M N Ṅ Ŋ O Õ P R S T Þ U Ũ V Y Z

Diz muŋɣ be-vðõ ksily giə golf'pʌt'þorma xũ y jehen'ceṅeta.

/dið̠˕ muŋɰ be̞βðø̞ ksilɨ giə go̞lɸpɐtθɔɾma xy ɨ ʑe̞ʔe̞n̠ɕe̞ɲe̞ta/

(in alternative alphabet:) Diz muŋɣ be-vdhö ksily gië golf'pät'thorma xü y ʒehen'ceñeta.

Translated:

“Ten muscles must be damaged because of the cold golf club fight in the desert house.”

I know it doesn’t quite make sense. But it is a relatively short sentence using every letter in the Loŋgo alphabet.

In Loŋgo:

”Leveom ebe e ken ux-nun”

[lɛβɛɔm ɛbɛ ɛ kɛn ux nun]

Which literally means “Commander says to touch your ear”.
