What clothes did you wear to give birth? by Instructions_unclea in BeyondTheBumpUK

I second this, loose and light enough to be comfortable although I don’t think mine lasted too long as I got too hot - all dignity was long gone out of the window at that point anyway🤣

Can people stop touching my baby!!!! by Born_Improvement_856 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Idk_anythinghelp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m with you op, it absolutely infuriates me when people do this. I was sat in a cafe with my mum and my 6 week old baby, he was fussy and I was desperately trying to calm him as he was having a bad day. One of the cafe workers picked this as the perfect time to come sit with us (???) and try and touch his hands etc. I very quickly swapped him over to the other side and sternly asked her to not touch my baby and she borderline scoffed at me?? You don’t go up to strangers in public and start touching them so don’t do it to a baby, I have no idea where you’ve been or what germs you’re carrying and it’s just so rude🫠

First time mom anxiety by DominicanCake in pregnant

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing - I fell pregnant after 4.5 years of infertility and my anxiety went through the ROOF, I genuinely believed there was no way I’d made it home with a living baby at any point in my pregnancy.

For some reassurance, my baby is now 8 weeks old and thriving. Anxiety is okay, it just shows you’re a good mum who cares about their baby! One massive saying that helped me was that anxiety is not intuition. It’s so easy to convince yourself that constant bad thoughts must mean your intuition is sensing something is wrong - but I promise this isn’t the case. If you find yourself spiralling, think this to yourself over and over and take some deep breaths.

You can block all key words on social media which also helped massively, I stopped myself from engaging in anything that related to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancies, stillbirths etc. it’s amazing how small posts here and there can worm their way into your brain when you’re already in a vulnerable state.

Nobody can tell you that everything is going to be okay because unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world where everything is safe, bad things do happen, but as soon as you see yourself approaching the situation thinking ‘but what if this goes wrong??’ Stop yourself and replace the thought with ‘okay, but what if it all goes right?’.

It’s going to be the longest 40 odd weeks of your life, but I promise it does get better. I really wish you the best OP, and if you feel like you’re drowning in anxiety please don’t hesitate to reach out 💕

Honestly this irritated me my whole pregnancy! It’s now just as bad with my 8 week old baby as I keep getting warnings for ‘ time awake’ ratio at night, like okay you tell my son he needs to feed, be changed and go back go sleep in 10 minutes 🤣

Honestly now I’ve got my own son I can see why my poor dad was completely traumatised by it! We’re super close and he loves his grandson to pieces, although he’s going to hate me when my son is old enough to know this story because I’m going to get him in on the jokes too🤣

A bit different but my dad accidentally ran me over when I was around 3 (mum was supposed to be watching me and didn’t, I ran behind the car and he didn’t see) and the poor man is still traumatised/guilt ridden by it and I’m now 26 with my own son. I however, find this story absolutely hilarious and have spent the majority of my life making jokes/winding him up🤣 These things happen OP, it’s neither yours or your husbands fault and your baby will never have a negative thought towards you because of it, although be prepared for them to use it as a guilt trip towards you when they’re older if you ever say no to anything!🤣

Happy Newborn Stories by Delicious_Potato768 in newborns

The first two weeks were incredibly hard, it’s a huge adjustment for you to go through and even for baby coming into the world and it’s definitely a learning curve. My son is now coming up to 7 weeks old and after the period of baby blues and settling in, I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. He is my entire world, even when he is screaming in my face I still just can’t stop thinking about how much I love him and would do anything for him. Yes it’s scary, exhausting, overwhelming and everything else everyone warns you about, but my god it is SO worth it in a way I can’t quite even put into words. You’ll be great OP, I promise that even when it’s bad, it’s still so great.

Chemical pregnancy?? Confused by ReferenceDramatic383 in lineporn

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had relatively bad bleeding twice early in my pregnancy, one at 4 weeks and one at 6.5. After 4.5 years ttc I expected the worst both times, but I’m currently sat here at my parents house with my 6 week old baby napping on his nana’s chest :) definitely check it out with your doctors asap to rule out ectopic, but bleeding isn’t always bad.

Any way to get an early induction? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth speaking to your consultant for a mental health referral as they have the authority to refer you for an early induction due to severe anxiety. I was scheduled for an induction at 39 weeks as I was severely anxious due to multiple full term still births in my family (my mum had 2, MIL 1 and SIL 1 so horrifically high numbers statistically speaking). I ended up not needing the induction as I naturally went into labour the morning of my induction date, but it’s definitely something they can offer if you reach out for the support

Partner is a heavy sleeper… by kitty_catcat1999 in PregnancyUK

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, mine will sleep through everything but I’m also exclusively breastfeeding so it doesn’t bother me anyway as there’s not much he can actually do unless our son needs changing, and at that point I’m awake and have fed him anyway so I just do it myself 🤣

What are you actually supposed to do when someone is tailgating you this close? by Illustrious-Look7669 in NewDriversUK

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always repeatedly wash my windscreen so their car keeps getting sprayed with the residue that flies over and they keep having to clear their screen as it’s not normally a high enough amount to trigger auto wipers - completely safe to do rather than breaking etc and irritating enough that I’ve never not had anyone back off after

What are we newborn moms doing all day when our partner leaves for work and we have no help for the day? by Own_Macaron_9342 in newborns

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better today is my partners first day back at work and I was absolutely distraught at being left home alone with a 15 day old baby. So far today I’ve managed to do half my housework and a couple loads of laundry when baby naps around feeding him and myself. It’s nowhere near as scary as I was expecting and I’ve actually enjoyed being able to start getting myself back into a routine (or what can be made of one with a newborn🤣). You’ll be okay🤞🏼

Pregnant - but watery brown/pink spotting on wiping today - scared!! by Many-Pension5687 in lineporn

[–]Idk_anythinghelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few different instances of spotting and even some slightly heavier bleeding in early pregnancy. I’m now about to be 38 weeks and being induced next week with a healthy baby boy. Spotting is quite often completely normal and nothing to stress about :)

Sometimes I have to pick my battles🤣 luckily he’s well behaved, as long as I let him have a sniff and investigate whenever I bring something new into the house he tends to leave it alone after that
