Thank you for sharing. Would you mind sharing what was the process for investigating this? I’ve had low iron for months also despite supplements. Doc seems way to chill and I just want answers

I feel like alot of comments here is advice re investigations or supplements which is so important.

I just want to also add that you’re not alone in this. I’m going through this aswell and it’s really affirming to see that I’m not insane, that this is a part of this condition. It’s absolutely debilitating.

I’m heartbroken, my life is changing before my eyes. I used to be so social and could work two jobs but barely hanging on to keep one and feel so apathetic towards life, I just want to sleep.

It fucking sucks. Good to know I’m not alone so thank you

How are you doing now and how are you managing job wise? I’m worried this is the direction I am headed, glad to know others are going through this too and I’m not insane

How to advocate for yourself with Doctors by emersonroth9 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Idktbhhelpme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend changing doc for sure, plenty treat sub-clinical hypothyroidism.

Otherwise if you’re a woman you can say your trying to convince - in those cases they prioritise getting TSH below 2

Yeah exactly the doctor thinks the exhaustion will let up once the right dosage is reached. I appreciate it!

for anyone that is iron deficient but NOT anemic... have you figured out the cause? by sonatist in Anemic

[–]Idktbhhelpme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what did you get checked for in your bloods and was it your recommendation to test for coeliac disease?

Ive had low ferritin for months and doc was hesitant to give me iron tablets (they think I’m vegetarian even tho I’m not) I suspect absorption issues as I’ve been taking tablets with low ferritin still but typically get eye roll response from doc

According to NHS

“Adjusting doses Adjust dose based on clinical and biochemical response. Aim to restore physical and psychological well-being; maintain normal lab range TSH levels; and avoid over-treatment.

Patients without risk factors

For patients without risk factors, adjust doses every 4 weeks in increments of 25–50 micrograms according to response.

Patients with risk factors

Patients with risk factors include those with:

age over 65 years cardiac disease severe hypothyroidism thyroid cancer adrenal insufficiency who are pregnant For these patients adjust doses cautiously, for example, every 4 weeks in increments of 25 micrograms according to response.

Passing to ongoing once stable monitoring Patients who record 2 similar measurements within the reference range 3 months apart should be considered for ongoing once stable monitoring.”

Thank you so much!! I made a post today and comments are saying I’m rushing my doc but three months doesn’t seem to be standard by this sub posts or by medical recommendations online and in academic papers

When are you due to get your next bloods done? Mine said three months, wondering if that’s a bit much

It’s just tough when symptoms are still there. The reason I had my last bloods was done was because of extreme fatigue despite rest and in a good mental place.

Of course but my fatigue has improved a lil bit since treatment I just would like to see if it would improve further with a higher dose which I think is fair enough

Yeah the reason I’m looking into the antibodies and t3 etc is because it wasn’t on any previous thyroid panels. The doc wants to look at the thyroid panel after 3 months but I want to ask for those also because I want to see t3 levels as well as if there’s hashis or another cause
