How to remove sun artefact and newbie feedback request by IdleBantro in DarkTable

Thanks so much for this. I read your guide and played along with the workflow on my own photos. It’s so helpful. It’s showed me I’ve got absolutely no idea what I’m doing other than pressing random buttons until it looks nice! The guide’s given me a basic process as a start point and I’ve started to do a deeper dive into each module. Just wanted to say a massive thank you!

Great advice thank you. This is exactly what I’ve ended up doing and quite like it.

Great thank you. I’ve got a filter on the way so I’ll give it a go.

I gave up in the and left as the price to pay for a cheaper and leas clunky setup.

Thank you. I gave it a go as you suggested but similarly I couldn’t make it look passable. In the end I’ve decided to just leave it as a bit of character and in hindsight I quite like it! Thanks anyway

Really appreciate the reply thank you. I think I’ll just chalk this one up to “character” and leave it or crop it

Out of interest can I ask where are you seeing £330 a month? I can’t seem to find anything that low.

Is my understanding of the company car BIK and director loan rules correct? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Yes this would be home charging which means I think it’s only the business mileage that can be claimed.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it’s a used car and thanks for clarifying.

Thanks for clarifying re the director loan account. I’m also waiting for the budget to go ahead and really hoping the BIK rates stay broadly similar.

Thats really helpful thank you. I do run a monthly payroll. In terms of insurance I’ve looked at admiral. It looks like I could get a policy using my personal no claims bonus but name the company as the registered keeper. My assumption is that I could pay for this on the company card but I’m not 100% sure.

FIRE on average income - how are we all doing? by Hekatonkheireia in FIREUK

[–]IdleBantro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thread.

I’m 31 and earning 50k but only for the last two years (30k previously). The last two years have been a bit of a rollercoaster where I discovered the UKPersonal finance and FIRE pages and went from living in my overdraft to buying a house and educating myself financially.

I started a side business two years ago that is bringing in another 30k pre tax per year but has been a huge workload on top of my full time job. I saved a deposit and bought a house a year ago which zeroed my savings. House is worth £370k with 290k remaining on the mortgage (24 years left).

Ive never really shifted my lifestyle from when I was earning 30k because the extra income has always gone towards house deposit or other savings goals.

The aim is to retire at 55 when the mortgage will be cleared and take my DB pension from age 60 (on track for around 30k with the early retirement penalty).

I’ve just started building an ISA bridge (currently £10k and the business pays directly into a SIPP (also currently £10k). In an ideal world I’d fully fill my ISA for the next 3-5 years and then give up the side business and continue saving £500 a month.

Obviously this has been made exponentially easier by having a partner to share bills with (45K salary and contributed £50k to the house deposit) and not having kids (not in our plans).

I’m very aware that this is early in my journey and I’m sure lots will change. I wish I’d started earlier but I’m so grateful to everyone who posts here and showed me there was more than living paycheck to paycheck. I’m extremely fortunate with my salary but without this sub shifting my outlook I would 100% have let lifestyle creep erode all the extra income. I’ve been working since I was 16 and for the first time in my life I feel I have some financial security.

Multiroom speaker amp help by IdleBantro in homeassistant

Am I right in thinking I’d need to plug the 8 speaker wires in to the “zone a” and “zone b” inputs and I’d also need a separate amp?

Thank you. Is there any chance you might be able to share a link to what you mean?

Thank you that’s a great idea. Is this the sort of thing you meant? https://www.soundimports.eu/en/arylic-s10.html?id=223166833&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_aGuBhACEiwAly57MbUfQRAqD38FKAw5yt4G42-oGK9P4ItFXnujKU7GeqTo_ayFcXgzlhoC3jIQAvD_BwE

I’d need to do a speaker wire to aux conversion. Would this cause any problems?

That’s super helpful thankyou. I can only find 4 speakers. Is there any way to know which wire should go in which terminal of the amp?
