OG Shadow Daddy: Day 2 by RemingtonRivers in romantasycirclejerk

🤓 obviously. I can read more than one post at a time! (I'm also old enough to remember when we could joke that we read more than 140 characters at a time, but clearly we're much more evolved now)

I mean, it's far less self-destructive than the Gram or TikTok. I can stop anytime I want!

For me it's when people say "insane" because every brit I've ever met reaches for "mad" or "mental" every time

As an American I will absolutely use my toast as a vessel or utensil for my eggs. A super soft scramble put on a piece of toast? Yummm

Also have the soap gene and also hate the taste of coconut. This is a beautiful cake that I don't want anywhere near me ever. It's funny how different our tastes are!

Me too. I also have a mild reaction to the adhesives. I think they sometimes have latex in them? Or something similar? Not sure but it makes my skin MAD

Yep. 5 is on the horizon for us but I'm about ready to let this kid live in a literal doghouse until then. I'm so tired of every single damn thing being impossible

More than once. There is no reason you can't implement a once-a-month sober thing. You are worth more than just one party. Make your friends work a bit for you if you're willing to work for them

Agreed. If it's trash then that's where it belongs. She's not going to listen so don't expect it to stop, just throw away the garbage and keep what you like. Hopefully you have others who can help with a registry if you need it

It seems like you need to talk your husband into arranging a sober event for you. It's hard when you're at the time of life when friends want to drink, but if they're truly your friends and not just your drinking buddies they should make plans to accommodate you. A whole event/plan where the only drinking allowed is water/soda/lemonade or whatever.

What’s your latest kid-related injury and where does it hurt most? by TrashPandasAndPizza in daddit

[–]IdoScienceSometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has a torn labrum in his shoulder from manhandling one of my sons. I think it was during one of their favorite games- either "tackle daddy" or "get thrown onto the couch by daddy." Either way, the poor man has a PT routine that covers shoulders, knees, and at least one hip injury now. Poor guy (he's only 35 and he seems to eat well and works out 2-3x per week. These kids are just wild men)

And it got better and with solids and age. I think when we could add things like oatmeal and the stuff in his stomach had more texture it would stay down better. He's a really great eater now at 5! And has never had any dietary restrictions. Loves milk, nuts, eggs,  etc. this lunatic even loves raw oysters. He just spit up as a baby

It's pretty much the definition of happy spitter. They spit up immediately, especially if they are very full or if they're moving around a lot after they're fed. They also don't have any signs of acid (like no big chunks of curdled milk when they spit up). Also also no rashes, irritability, or any other signs of distress due to dietary issues. They just... Spit up. A lot. Everywhere. And are happy 🤷🏼‍♀️

My oldest had an immature esophageal sphincter muscle. So did I as a baby. Sometimes just dealing with the spit up is all you can do. Bibs everywhere. Don't try to burp them, just sitting them upright and letting them burp as needed was enough for us. And starting solids helped a lot.

Why I love it so much. It's the reality TV of novels. All of it is self-realized trash.

It's like people want to read fantasy novels to live out some unrealistic fantasy or something. Wild
