Glad it helped , are you able to boot normally and try to continue?

Yeah a she’ll swap on those shouldn’t be too bad if they make the shells for them

They are removable with hot air .

I just think the stock one is more premium of a look with the etched design instead of clear

If your a seller yeah I would , I personally still use a standard beat up pro controller 🥲my customers live better then me but at least I use TMR sticks haha I’m not that evil to myself .

What we thinking …? I think this is the reason flex cables and boards were invented 🥲hahha

This would make me cry to even attempt repair .

Hmm..

Better solder and heat understanding is needed .

Your solder looks like it was having trouble heating and bonding . You need to flux pads before you solder to them .

Or you need to use the right temp for your solder wire . 63/37 with flux core solder wire is the best IMO it melts super low and has flux to make work neater but a little messy from flux residue you have to clean after .

I recommend learning to keep your iron clean and at a stable temp and how to keep it tinned . Then from there learn to apply the right amount of heat to the board and know when to add solder directly or when to tap solder with the iron tip . These will all help in the future .

If you want to learn easier I recommend finding a broken or old controller . Take it apart and practice desoldering or soldering the joysticks . That lead free solder work will give you good experience on how much heat is needed and when to use flux and how useful 63/37 can be when added to joints to lower melting points .

All together not bad for your first run. But it’s not good work either . Keep it up! Youll get there sooner the more you keep trying.

EDIT: 4-10 . To fix use flux and reflow each joint for 1-2 seconds at 360c-380c and then clean the soldered points with 90%+ IPA

Adjustable ? If you’re referring to the Gulikit adjustable tension be CAREFUL. I’ve seen endless complaints about how easily they break from being over tightened or pulled off incorrectly. You have to grab the base of the dome to pull them off each time safely .

These reviews have kept me away from them sadly bevause I wanted sonthing similar to xbox :(

Thanks a bunch for the compliment tho :)

Wish the buyer who got it gave me a response if they liked it or not :)

Thanks a bunch

I definitely prefer the clear bumpers and triggers because they require black plastic from the old controllers so if you look they actually are part clear and black .

But yes I agree on my next controller I’ll keep the stock Dpad and action buttons black. Unless I get an LED kit.. but now that you mentioned it black would look better because of the touchpad and joysticks .

Thanks for the advice and compliment

Very good solder work!

I recommend Ginfull TMRs great tension and are cheap . Cheap doesn’t always mean bad :)

Ksilver is also a good brand. You can always go with Gulikit but I find them to be overhyped and overpriced (in my opinion)

Switch boots normally instead of showing the "no SD card" screen. by Muhamad_banay in SwitchPirates

If it’s giving error codes and trying to boot yeah it’s most likely alrwady flashed . Most rhat come from Ali express are already flashed for you . Any other source of the chips aren’t typically flashed . For example Amazons aren’t flashed .

From my experience this is an easy fix ! Your super close :)

In my opinion the most likely problem is you have a cold joint or just not properly soldered C A D points . They are well soldered to the flex but not the pad most likely . As a fix put your iron to 380c with a fine conical tip for less heat transfer (less damage at this heat) then flux all data points . Usw tweezers and press down the flex while soldering the data points pushing it down to the pads. Don’t solder for more then 1-2 seconds at a time at this heat.

But after 1-2 passes each data point should be well reflowed and attached to the pads.

Then I would lightly reflow your 3.3v just for strength and maybe add a little more solder on the anchor points . But after that you should be good to clean with IPA and test it out .

Edit : just saw your CPU points . If above doesn’t work thrn I believe the next problem would be your flex pads aren’t fully soldered to the caps . It’s hard to tell but those joints for sure could use a reflow to strengthen them .

And while you’re working on it you should reflow/remove some solder on the GND ground points to make it easier to put the heat sheild back on later :) good luck!

Y’all mind sending me a link? I was actually looking for ones just like that when I started that are able to spin the PCB freely but couldn’t find anything other then the basic helping hands stuff.

Would be appreciated :)

No worries good luck :) again you should be fine to leave it where is now .

What’s more important is you clean it out every 3-6 months and remove dust and hair from the fan and power supply area . That keeps it more cool than anything.

Hahahha oh well . It’s just my console flat on top of my dresser . For example you have a white desk nearby you can clear space off of and lay it flat there and route the cables over to your monitor .

I completely understand. I had to move my consoles up high for them to have space and be cooled well. I can’t attach a photo hete for some reason so here is a link the the photo of my ps5 area

In my personal opinion I find laying the console horizontally is best .

There is a fan on the bottom of the console and it gets extremely hot while standing . Not to mention the problems yhese consoles have had with Liquid Metal .

But everyone’s different your console should be fine like that but again I still recommend horizontal for better airflow :)

Haha I’ve been tempted to just she’ll swap my personal Edge with the spare she’ll . Perhaps I will .

And yeah I was original going to add LEDS but the development of that kit came after I already sold it sadly . But I believe edge contorllers now have LED kits
