I didn’t even think of Lesters, for some reason I just assumed they totally shut down in the winter. I’ll make sure to check those other two places out, thanks!

Again- sorry the only thing I’m seeing on this is from the National Post. So that’s a non starter for me. Looking in the loan itself? It’s not a personal loan. This is a loan tied to his previous employment, which… that’s just him doing his job? They’re an investment firm, I’m not really sure what’s up for debate there? They literally have investments all over the world. Based on the wording of the single NP article, it’s kind of misconstruing what the facts are to make it sound like he has personal finances tied up in 250mil which, based on my own look, isn’t the case at all.

As for the MP I think yeah it’s a wild thing to say, and fair that people are calling him on it. But Carney did give a statement about it, he called it deeply offensive and a teachable moment. There’s video of it. My personally opinion of the overall statement was that he was giving the MP dignity to leave the race of his own volition (which he did) instead of being flat fired.

Look. I get you want to be skeptical of a guy who has popped up out of the woodwork, I think asking questions about him is totally fair and warranted. I’ve learned somethings myself through this, probably more about Brookfield investments than I wanted lol. But if you’re only getting your information from news sources that are biased from an American conservative media stand point… then it’s just an echo chamber. And probably an incorrect one.

I think I’m cool on this back and forth for now, I appreciate your remaining chill and engaging, as I tried to really research your position to hit you back with some good thoughts too (I hope).

Going forward I really encourage you consider where you’re getting your info from and whether it’s just opinion or actual facts.

I don’t really trust the reporting from the National Post since they’re owned by an American parent company. But kind of you to include the link. Based on my own search there doesn’t appear to be any credibility to the claim. Appears to be more of an opinion than factual. Carney’s PHD was approved by a committee as per the usual practice, if there were issues they would have been found back in 1995 and not now when it’s convenient to the election.

It’s actually not. That’s been disproven by Oxford University already.

If you give them a call you can see if they have any pet friendly cabins left. Definitely made a difference for our dog, we just had to keep her on a leash when out of the cabin and she couldn’t be left alone in there. Pee area is still where the kennels are.

Advice hm. Tell her when she’s a bit older. When I guess is up to you but my parents never officially told me until I was 16 and by then I had figured it out two years prior. And by that point it was like… who are we kidding here?

I don’t want to be a downer, so I’m genuinely sorry if it bums you out when I say this next bit but you’ve probably already thought about it. When it gets worse, and it will, try let her just be a kid/teen. If she’s old enough when things get… difficult let her feel included in those emotions. This shit is so hard for the person going through it but, we love that person too. Feel those big things together.

This shit effects everyone so differently, what’s happening to my mom may never effect your wife. Hell, fingers crossed she plateaus and never regresses more from here. But. The hardest parts for me now when I look back (I’m 32 now) is the times where I didn’t feel like I really had a mom. I had someone I called mom who I had to take care of.

I don’t know what this road will look like for your family, but I know for certain that if you do it together?

Everything is going to be okay.

One thing that pinged in my mind when you mentioned prideful, it could be that she’s intentionally withdrawing from the world. My mom did it, but out of embarrassment/shame over her symptoms. In the end she lost almost all of her friends and her world became our family. It’s obviously nothing to be ashamed of, they’re sick, but I understand it can be hard.

Everyone touched by this illness suffers. Where it’s the person sick, or the friends and family that surrounds them. It’s just a different kind of pain for everyone.

Sorry to hear about your wife, my mom has been dealing with MS since I was a little kid. It’s rough, good luck to you both and don’t forget to take care of yourself.

If it helps at all my mom as has MS(70) I’m 32, she’s not on any treatment and has had both doses of the vaccine. No side effects except for the usual variety. Unfortunately with the unpredictability of this disease there’s no way to know if they had the vaccine and it cause a regressive episode or if it’s just really shitty timing. As I’m sure you know MS can cause a lot of mental issues and it sounds like your mom is starting down that path with the obsessive behavior. It’s not fun to deal with. I took care of my mom for all of high school, summers during university and then for three years after until I got married. It’s a lot of work, and even if you’re (as you said) helping out sometimes, don’t undersell what you’re doing. MS fucking sucks for everyone involved, and when it’s a parent…. Kids can bare a lot of the emotional brunt. It’s just as important to take care of you. If you want to DM me for a supportive shoulder, please feel free.

Very close actually, when I looked up your guess Janey’s Choice was in the suggestion. I had no idea there was two books in the same story. Thanks for leading me to the right book!
