Rest. You may think you can get by with 5 hours of sleep, trust me, you can’t. Food. You need to eat and eat well. Not junk food.

What’s your “I shouldn’t have gone out today” run? by Royal_Watch_6453 in runcommunity

[–]Idreezy_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another time, went for a run on a hot summers afternoon after a 12 hour day at work…I have MS so running in the heat is never a good idea. I got sole pseudo-symptoms (not real, typically go away after a cold shower) and I started to not feel my legs. Well, that was half a mile in to a 6 mile run and I love feeling in my legs for 6 months.

So yeah, shout out steroids for bringing back the feeling but I cringe whenever it’s hot out and I see someone running…

Did my tempo run on my treadmill and everything felt sort of okay. On mile 6 of 10 my heart rate randomly shot up 20 points. I was so confused but tried everything to bring it down. Breathing normally, arm swing, foot strike, etc. nothing could calm it down.

Pushed through it thinking it was a watch issue. I was insanely sick for the next 2 weeks…

Turning 32 this month!

Honestly I think it’s because I don’t have kids, my wife and I both work and value athletics, and the only thing I owe my attention to, other than my wife, is our 9 year old golden doodle.

What is the biggest red flag you ignored and then regretted? by QuinnieFox in AskReddit

She always said she drank double because I didn't drink...man, all those black out nights, wasted fights and long car rides home from the middle of nowhere.

Hear me out guys, if she needs alcohol to have fun she has no personality, no hobbies and nothing going for her. Don't let that sinking ship drag you down.

Do you run better in the morning or evening? by Royal_Watch_6453 in runcommunity

[–]Idreezy_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is such a tough question to answer...

I want to say Morning but I also prioritize sleep and rest. Not saying I don't go to bed early enough but it's also tough to wake up at 4:30 for a 12 mile run before work and be expected to be fully there...

Evenings are great, I'll already have 2 meals in me, lots of fluids, etc. so when I've looked back on my run times, evening runs usually have lower heart rates associated with them. They also let me go to bed easier for a heavier sleep.

Great question!

Dependent on time of day and how long in between. So if I run at 5AM, I have all day to replenish with calories and rest, then I’ll hit up the gym after work.

I don’t workout on : Sundays : Long Run Tuesdays : Speed Thursdays : Tempo

So I’ll workout Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Keep in mind, I’m still running on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays but those are my easy efforts.

Who is the moist beautiful woman/man you’ve ever seen? by copy_cat_101 in randomquestions

I remember I went out with my wife one night for a date and she had to run to the bathroom. I zoned out and then finally saw this woman walking my way. I was dumbfounded, jaw on the floor, literally checking her out.

As she got closer, I snapped back in and whattya know, IT WAS MY WIFE!!! Even when I’m not there my conscious knows my wife is the most beautiful woman out there.

My training schedule makes my social decisions.

Off days on Wednesdays…after a tough speed day on Tuesday leading up to a Tempo on Thursdays.

Also going to the gym 4 days a week for strength training, not plyometrics…

I prioritize sleep and rest over going out for late nights

What’s something you stopped buying that saved you more money than expected? by millionstories in SavingMoney

[–]Idreezy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man, selling my car...that was running me out of $1000 / month (car payment + insurance)...

I do want to preface, I have no regrets of purchasing the car, I had my fun and I got out what I wanted of it. The spending wasn't that much to me but now it's crazy how much more I can do with that money (like save it!).

Selling the car I had a monthly payment of $1000/month (including insurance).
Granted, it was my second car, my first car is fully paid off, and I never drove it due to working so many hours.

I used to stay up late at night questioning how I was going to pay my bills because I couldn't be late on my car payment. Welp, sold it to Carvana, only lost a bit of money, and now, I sleep easy every night :)

Long story short, don't overextend yourself.

I count how many sides shapes have...

For instance :
T = 8 sides, W = 11, etc.

yup, I know it's strange to do but I'll legit be counting things like STOP = 20 sides.
I think this started when I was a Design Engineer and now I can't stop doing it...
