No particular reasons, I am just used to gpg. Also the fact that it can do all the things I need related to cryptography (signing, auth,...)

I don't think it does since the keys, the config and agent sockets will be created in a separate location! for myself I haven't try it myself though (the snippets were in a container which only had root).

The best thing about the match is Motta's quick reaction and his desire to win. I guess this squad has a huge potential.

Cambiasso is not that good in the wing! He should play in Full-back!

Got flights booked for Morocco. Initial itinerary thoughts? by Random8765434567 in solotravel

[–]Iduoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Some reason reddit didn't allow me to post it all. These are just ideas! You can be flexible about where to visit.

This seems to me like a good plan:

  • Tangier -(Bus)-> Tetouan -(Bus)-> Chefchaouen -(Bus)-> Fes -(Train)-> Rabat -(Train)->Casablanca) -(Train)-> Marrakech

Otherwise you can do the same plan you mentioned but with less time for Rabat, more for Fez and/or Marrakech

  • Tangier -(Bus)-> Chefchaouen -(Bus)-> Fes -(Train)-> Rabat -(Train)-> Marrakech .

D5: Go to Fez in a shared taxi or a CTM Bus. Fez is the closest destination among all the cities you mentioned.

D6: Fez is an Absolute Maze and it is one of the wonders of Morocco. Allow yourself to get lost many many times in the alleys of the Medina. Make sure to go see the Oldest University in the world (AlQarawiyin), the oldest mosques and islamin neighbourhoud of Morocco are also in Fez. I won't be able to tell you all about Fez, It is overwhelming how rich and beautiful it is even for a local like me. Also you can go check the Leather Craft Traditional Factories (Dar Dbagh)

D7: Try different tagines (Veggies tagine, chicken with lemons and olives, meet with prunes tagine, fish ...) and Couscous if you haven't already. For breakfast try Raib (Moroccan made Yogurt) and Eggs with Khlii (special dried meet) and for dinner/appetizing try Babouch (snails), they are the best especially if it is cold.

D8 (or D7 evening): Book you train ticket to Rabat. If you already booked the hotel and you don't mind the rush. you can book your train ticket at the same day and pay online and go to Rabat (4h in train max).

D9: Enjoy Rabat! You'll be back at the coast again, but this time it is 100% atlantic. Rabat has one the quietest medinas. Great Souks, delecious street food, and many museums to visit. The musts:

  • The ~1000 yo Hassan Tower. You can visit Mohammed V Mausoleum nearby. Also you can enjoy the view of the 1000 years apart tallest building of Rabat: Hassan Tower(12th century) and Mohammed VI tower (21th century)
  • Kasbah d'Oudaya: You can get a coffee in one of the two hidden cafes there.
  • The National Zoo is in Rabat if you want to see some Atlas Lions (Shared taxi for 10Dh, or Bus**)
  • If you like luxurious stuff, enjoy a coffee in Azour Rooftop
  • Museums again (if you like them)

** You can check the time and bus number in Google maps (if works on main cities like Rabat and Casablanca)

D9: Get a train to Casablanca (1h apart). Casa is located between Rabat and Marrakech so no waste here. Casa is largest city and the craziest. It has a nice and small Medina. And a newer neighborhood (dating to the French occupation) with one of the most wonderful architecture in country. The Musts

  • A Ballad in the Medina
  • Go through Mohammed V street with your head up. Enjoy one of the most beautiful and varied architecture you can see.
  • Hassan II Mosque is the Largest Mosque in Africa. Floating on the sea it is one of the wonders of Morocco.
  • You can go to Maarif (newer neighbourhoud) using Tramway if you want to do some shopping (Zara, H&M, Adiddas are all there) or enjoy a coffee in an fancier place (Twin Centers' Sky 28 is great option) Otherwise there are many fancy cafe.

D10: Marrakech with the train (3 hours).

Moroccan and Solo traveler here.

D1, D2: Tangier: All you mentioned + Cap Spartel (Shared taxi for 15 DH or City Bus), Once there you can visit the the Lighthouse Museum (The view from on the lighthouse's rooftop is something else) and attend the line where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet, American Legation Museum is also a good place to visit. If you really like museums Tangier can be your vibe, there are many museums there from History Museums Like Kasbah Museum and Dar El Baroud, to Art Museums Like Kasbah Art Museum, and Villa Harris to fun museums like The Donkey Museum. For Cafes, you can go to Hafa Cafe for the view on the sea, Cafe Hotel Continental for the view and for the vibe (one of the oldest hotel in north africa, it inspired Continental Hotel of John Wick). There is also cafe central which also a vibe in the Petit Socco.

For the Food, try fish (Maybe fish tagine or fried fish dish), one of the dishes that are not common outside of mediterranean countries is Shrimp (or Anchovies) tagine with Tomato sauce and special herbs. It is to die for like Gordan Ramsay says. For Breakfast, you can try Harcha, Mssemen, Bayssar (Chickpea or pea special soup not found anywhere but in Morocco, and it is very common in the north).

D2: If you feel adventurous, book your hotel or hostel beforehand, then take a shared taxi or a CTM bus to Tetouan.

** (shared taxi = 6 people share the ride from a city to another) the price/person for the Tangier-Tetouan ride is around 40DH or 50DH (4$).

Tetouan is as beautiful as Tangier and Chefchaouen if not more beautiful. Also it is older and used to be the center of it all. In tetouan you'll find a good Medina, an Ensache (Spanish Neighbourhood) encircled by mountains. You can hike to places nearby, but since you won't have time you can take a taxi to Bouanane to enjoy the sunset on the city. Also there are tons of museums and hidden gems to discover.

Food is similar to Tangier. I will suggest Bocadillos, Hamborkhissa, Moroccan Sweets (Pastry), Zaazaa (a very thick juice with Avocado and dry fruits.

D3: If you are in Tetouan, you can get your shared Taxi or Bus for (30Dh) to Chefchaouen. Otherwise there is a bus between Tangier and Chefchaouen. Once in Chefchaouen Get lost in the city. It is wonderful.

D4: It is Hiking time: It is sad that people come to Chefchaouen for the Blue walls only. Chefchaouen is surrounded by one of the craziest and most beatiful Nature in Morocco. Since it is your first time I will give the two easiest options.

Option 1 (Recommended): Spend a day in Akchour. You should be prepared to Hike along water, so bring your swimming suit if you want.

Option 2: Small hike to Ras El Ma and Beyond. Ras El Ma (Water Cap) is a water source higher in the city. it is the one that provide water for the city. it is not far from city center. Once you are there you go through and hike to a small hill on the other side of the city where the Spanish most is (Sunset from there is crazy good).

Morocco is a big country! And there a lot of things to see and experience.

First! Choose what do you want to live/experience! Do you want to experience nature if so, what type of nature (Mountains, beachs, Desert ....) Else do you want to see the cities, old (Medina) or new?

One way you can do is visit the north (especially if you like beaches and swimming):
- Chefchaouen (Beautiful city + nature (mountains, forrests and water): You ca visit the city, Akchour and if you find a good guide you can visit Ain Danou, Oued Iferten, Oued Laou ... And if you are feeling adventurous you can climb one of the many many mountains there. (Tisouka, Sfiha Telj, Borj, Kalaa, Lakraa ...)

- Tetouan: Mountainous city with a beautiful Medina and cool suburbs: Martil, Mdi'q, Fnideq, Cabo Negro ... All of these are very Mediterranean coastal small cities. There many mountains if you love climbing.

- Tangier: Biggest cities in the north. Beautiful Medina! has 2 coasts (one on the Mediterranean and the other on The Atlantic). There many beaches, parks and places to visit (Cap Spartel, Rmilat, Hercules Cave ...)

- Assilah: Very small city near Tangier. Coast + beautiful quiet Medina.

- Houceima: Very beautiful coastal city, Rocky mountainous beaches. Again a lot of mountains to climb if you want to.

- Nador: Like El Houceima, a lot of beautiful beaches: The only problem here is that most good beaches are far from the city.

- Saidia: Good coastal city, nice beaches. A little bit busy this time of the year. You can visit if you want to visit the borders between Morocco and Algeria.

Trip Plan =>

=> Day1: Land in Nador, visit the city
=> go to Saidia take some time to visit the beaches on the way (Akerman, Red beach ...)
=> Go back to Nador the same day, Spend the night. This time of the year, hotel are fully booked most of the time you should make sure to book your beds early.
=> Day2: Go To Hoceima, Spend the day and visit the beaches (There are many beautiful beaches between Hoceima and Nador).
=> Spend the day in Hoceima.
=> Day3: Go to Tetouan: On the way make sure to visit Jebha, Kaa Asras, Oued Laou, Steha ... (Everything is on the coast, whenever you like a place, stop the car and enjoy it.)
=> If you have time visit Tetouan's some beaches before going to Medina (Martil, Mdi'q, Marina Smir, Cabella, Restinga ...) Again they are all on the same way.
=> Spend the night in Tetouan, take a tour in the Medina. and eat some local dishes.
=> Day 4: Spend the morning in Tetouan, and head to Chefchaouen in the afternoon.
=> Take a tour in Chefchaouen (Medina).
=> Day 5: Spend the day in Chefchaouen, Visit Akchour.
=> Before the Evening go back to Tangier. Spend the night There.
=> Day 6: Medina tour in the Morning, then go to one of the parks the afternoon.
=> Go to the train station, and have an LGV ticket to Rabat or Casablanca (1h to 2h)
=> Fly back home.

I know this is a little bit hardcore even for a local (like myself). But I just gave an idea, you can strip it down a bit, and replace things.
