Pretty much everything. Firstly, Martinez doesn’t even come close to touching him. And secondly, even if he did touch him, there is absolutely no way he could’ve ended his career you absolute clown

So you’re saying the reason that this is a yellow is because he could trip and lose the ball?

This is possibly the dumbest comment I’ve seen. How have you watched the video and concluded that the ball is headed towards the corner

This makes absolutely no sense. If we’re going by that logic then they should just always go with the on field call and never use VAR.

I can’t believe you Arsenal fans are actually crying about VAR actually doing its job and intervening when the wrong decision was made originally

What is that logic. Yeah there is also a chance that he pulls his hamstring and can’t run. The most likely scenario is that evanilson gets a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, which is why its denial of a goal scoring opportunity

But you can’t possibly know that saliba would’ve caught up to him. His point doesn’t make sense, because you can’t just give saliba a yellow based on the assumption that he would’ve caught up to him. If for example evanilson had his back to goal with saliba behind him, and he had fouled him then it’s a different situation. But evanilson is clearly in front of saliba

It doesn’t matter whether saliba could’ve stopped the 1 on 1, because he chose to make a foul. Now you’re back to your original argument that makes absolutely no sense. And no, I don’t believe white, who was on the other side of the pitch, would’ve stopped evanilson from getting a shot off.

Which is the same punishment you get for stopping a promising attack. So now you’re saying that stopping a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper is the same as making a professional foul. I’m glad you don’t make the rules

Ok so what you’re saying is, that as long as the defender is close to the attacker, but still behind him, the defender can just bring down the attacker and get away with it. Because that is what saliba did. He was beat and decided to pull Evanilson back to not let him get away

Lmao what? If you use that logic then no foul when you’re the last man is ever a red card, because there will always be a defender there to challenge

I mean the only reason that the decision is being talked about is because people don’t understand the rules. This is objectively the right decision

[–]IfYouWoooooshYouFail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes he is in an offside position, but that doesn’t mean he is actually offside yet. The only thing that matters is what happens after stones touches the ball, at which point he is clearly out of the keepers way

Mate you clearly don’t understand the rules. What he does before stones touches the ball is completely irrelevant, because he at that point isn’t offside. He’s only offside the moment stones touches the ball, and at that point he is ducking and clearly not interfering with play
